On October 28, an exhibition of paintings by the famous Hollywood actor Sylvester Stallone opened at the Russian Museum of St. Petersburg. He has been painting for over 30 years and has already held several exhibitions. Russian art connoisseurs will be able to admire his work until the end of November. We decided to remember who else from the creative people is fond of the fine arts.

The style of Rambo's paintings is called abstract expressionism by critics because the author does not adhere to a certain direction of the genre in them. His canvases are emotional, spontaneous, colorful and very expressive.

Sylvester loved to draw since adolescence, but due to lack of funds he was forced to give up this occupation. And he happily returned to him only in adulthood. The pictures of the star are popular, they are bought for a lot of money. However, the actor himself admits that it is inconvenient for him to sell them, and he prefers to donate his creations.

Paul McCartney

The ex-Beatle has also been drawing for a long time - over 30 years. However, he does it solely for the sake of pleasure. Sir McCartney admits that he does not analyze his masterpieces too much and he is not worried about the opinion of critics, he does not pretend to be a great artist. He is more interested in the process of creating a picture than in its content.

This, however, did not prevent his canvases from being exhibited in large galleries, including in London. Queen Elizabeth II herself came to see them.

Anthony Hopkins

Actor Anthony Hopkins started painting not so long ago, in 2005. And I learned to do it myself. Hopkins took up painting under the pressure of his wife Stella, who, after seeing her husband's first drawings, literally forced him to continue and, moreover, not to hide his talent from the general public.

Anthony prefers to create his creations not with a brush, but with a special trowel - a mastin. This gives his work more expressiveness, adding texture and juiciness. They, however, are already distinguished by their brightness and uniqueness.

Marilyn Manson

Marilyn Manson is a well-known proponent of all kinds of frightening ugliness. He does not hide it, proving it with his own image, and demonstrates it in his paintings. Apparently, Brian Warner (Manson's real name) is not responsible for writing the paintings, but his stage image.

Manson has been drawing not so long ago, but already quite successfully. His canvases are exhibited in many cities around the world.

Tim Burton

Director Tim Burton has his own recognizable film style. He is also present in his paintings. These are, as a rule, characters typical for horror films - monsters, freaks, zombies, but looking like clowns, fun and weird.

Burton admitted that until the age of 20 he hardly communicated with people, and drawings were the main means of his dialogues. The director also says that it is by drawing that he comes up with another hero for his film or cartoon.

David Lynch

Despite the fact that David Lynch is known as a cult director, he was previously an artist. Lynch was a student at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Arts and painted pictures in the genre of surrealism, but then suddenly became disillusioned with this art form and spread to another - cinema.

However, Lynch the director and Lynch the artist work in the same style. David's favorite subjects are frightening nightmares and mysterious abstractions.
