A new book by British writer Helen Fielding goes on sale this week. Bridget Jones novel. Mad About The Boy (approximate translation: "Bridget Jones. In particular, British actor Colin Firth, who played in the film adaptation of the novel of the shy gentleman Mark Darcy, was shocked to learn about the death of his hero.

According to the plot of the new novel, the main character is already over fifty and she is raising two children after the death of her beloved spouse. As Fielding said, it was difficult for her to make the decision about the death of Mark, but it turned out to be even more difficult to inform Colin about it.

“I wanted to tell Firth about it face to face, somehow prepare him … - the writer told Time. - But we could not meet, and in the end I told him about it on the phone. But, of course, first I asked if he was sitting and if there was anyone nearby. It began to seem to me that someone had really died. And then I said, "I'm so sorry. I sympathize with your loss."

Recall that based on Fielding's books, two films were shot - "Bridget Jones's Diary" and "Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason", in which the main role was played by Hollywood star Renee Zellweger.

Nevertheless, Helen promised that much in the book will remind of Darcy. And for the script, she even prepared a small role for Colin, who will appear like a ghost in front of his children.

By the way, preparations for the filming of the third part were resumed again. And even Hugh Grant, who is supposed to reprise his role as the womanizer Daniel Cleaver, said: “No one has signed a contract yet. But they are working on a script. I saw it myself."
