Few women are satisfied with their figure. Either the chest is not lush enough, the waist is not too thin, or the hips are too wide. By the way, if it is the latter that torments you, then scientists recommend not to worry too much. As it turned out, pear-shaped women tend to be in good health.

As previously stated by researchers from Oxford, the presence of protruding buttocks indicates a very low level of cholesterol in the body. There is also a theory that the "pear-shaped" figure is the result of excess production of hormones that regulate appetite and body weight, which means that overeating women with volumes à la Jay Lo is not threatened. Another plus: curvy hips more attract the attention of the opposite sex, since on a subconscious level they are associated with fertility.

Employees at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota conducted an experiment: about three dozen volunteers of both sexes were fattened for eight weeks to observe how fat is stored in their bodies. After the "diet" test, the participants' body fat was measured.

As it turned out, the upper body was not much larger. Fat cells in the abdomen and abdomen increased in size, but not in number. With the hips, everything was exactly the opposite - the fat cells grew quantitatively, but did not become any more.

Scientists noted that the results of this experiment refute the long-held belief that in the body of an adult, the number of fat cells supposedly remains constant. The researchers also tried to explain why people with curvy hips are healthier. According to doctors, it is the ability of the lower body to store fat that provides some form of protection for the abdomen and heart.
