The demographic situation in our country is deplorable. Almost half of Russians think that a child is a "great luxury" today. And many see this as minuses as well as pluses.

According to a survey by the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM), 48% of our fellow citizens consider the birth of a child an event that negatively affects the financial situation of the family. 47% of the respondents adhere to the opposite point of view.

Also, almost half (47%) of the respondents are convinced that adding to the family takes away the freedom of self-realization from their parents, however, 49% hold the opposite opinion. 44% consider children to be an obstacle to career growth (and 47% disagree with this). One thing pleases: the majority of respondents - 79% - believe that having children strengthens the relationship between spouses. Only 15% of respondents disagree with them.

The size of maternity capital from January 1 may increase to over 300 thousand rubles, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said today at a meeting with the leadership of the constituent entities of the Federation.

People between the ages of 18 and 24 are more optimistic about the situation than their older comrades. Young boys and girls are less afraid of financial problems and, with rare exceptions, are confident that the child will only increase their love for each other.

The survey also showed that a third of young parents devote more than six hours a day to their children. Another 30% say they spend three to five hours talking with children, and another 27% can carve out a maximum of a couple of hours. Mothers tend to have much more time than fathers.

70% of parents play with their children every day. Two to three times a week, 15% of mums and dads do it. Finally, 2% said they almost never do it; their children can hardly be envied.
