The main symbols of New Year's happiness are tangerines, Olivier salad and champagne. They will appear on festive tables on the upcoming New Year's Eve for the vast majority of Russian citizens. This is evidenced by a survey conducted by Bashkirova & Partners.
78.9% of respondents cannot imagine a holiday without tangerines, 76.3% - without champagne, and 75.2% - without salad. The unnoticed symbol of the New Year breathes in the back of this gastronomic hit: raw smoked sausage (it was mentioned by 63, 2% of respondents). Herring under a fur coat is slightly less loved - 58%.
Champagne evokes the most associations with the New Year: 66% of respondents admitted that they drink it only a few times a year or even less often and only on special occasions. Only 6% of respondents drink champagne several times a month.
Russians are also going to drink vodka (59.7%) and 56.3% reported choosing wine.
Only 35.4% of respondents will eat caviar. The mimosa salad, popular during the Soviet era, is now remembered even less often - 33, 7%. Only 1, 2% of Russians said that they would not eat tangerines or Olivier on New Year's Eve and did not want champagne, vodka or wine.
Comparing the data of today's research with the results of a survey of 10 years ago, sociologists concluded that the well-being of citizens is growing. During this time, almost every product has grown by 4-15%.
Doctors have reminded many times that such a traditional Russian menu does not have the best effect on health. But, alas, it is customary to celebrate the New Year at a plentiful table. To mitigate the effects of the holiday treats, it is recommended to cook salads in small quantities and not season them with a lot of mayonnaise. And you should not eat them with sweet alcohol, champagne, carbonated cold drinks. Remember that during the holiday it is useful to move more: dance, lead round dances, sledding and ice skating.
