Spatula, plastic wide; a cutter, a wide roller and a narrow roller, a bucket and two brushes - one to apply glue to the wallpaper and the other to smooth the wallpaper when you press it against the wall.

What should be done first of all? Of course, tear off the old wallpaper. To do this, simply wet them with water. Usually, wallpaper adhesives are water-soluble, and therefore the paper easily comes off the walls. Where the paper does not come off the wall, you can use a spatula. Any cracks, cracks must first be cleaned, and then thoroughly covered with putty, and most importantly - allowed to dry. If the wall was previously whitewashed with water-based paint, you need to wash it off or tear it off. The surface of the walls needs to be roughened - primed, walk over them with sandpaper. This will keep the wallpaper for a very long time.

Clay is a serious choice. This requires the advice of a knowledgeable person. Listen to the opinion of the seller in the store, he will help you find the right brand of glue. The solution is prepared depending on the thickness of the wallpaper. For thick wallpapers, a thick glue solution is needed. For thin ones - more liquid. However, you need to apply the glue in a thin layer, if you overdo it, you will regret it. Cutting the wallpaper is not so difficult, the main thing is not to forget to leave allowances at the top and bottom. Manufacturers usually put all sorts of instructions and signs into rolls of branded wallpaper, do not throw them away, they will come in handy. They indicate the rapport of the wallpaper pattern, how to paste the wallpaper - without adjusting the pattern or using a counter sticker. It so happens that the patterns on the cut strips of wallpaper do not match, which means that each time the panels must be applied to each other so that the rapport coincides, and only then cut off. However, it is better not to buy such wallpapers at all. The choice is so huge that you can leave such delights to professionals.

The strips of wallpaper should be spread out so that glue can be applied without staining the multi-colored surface. Put the panels upside down one on top of the other and literally by a centimeter you need to move each panel slightly to the side to get such a "paper ladder" from the right or left edge, as you want. This is very convenient - now you can safely apply glue, it is simply impossible to stain the colored surface.

Spread the glue evenly and wait five minutes until it is absorbed. The paper should feel soft and even slightly elastic along its entire length in the same way. Then you can apply another thin layer of glue if you are not sure that everything is going as it should.

Then the main thing is to glue the wallpaper on the wall. It is better to start "dancing" from the window. Using a plumb line, draw a vertical line on the wall with a pencil, otherwise it happens that the ceiling or window is crooked. The builders did their best, nothing can be done about it. Attach the strip to the wall, first at the top of the ceiling, and then, slowly leveling it, press it against the wall, smoothing the strip from the middle to the edges with a long brush or a wide roller so that there are no bubbles. The sheet is long, it must be folded skillfully, otherwise the paper will drag along the floor. What kind of neatness then. A strip of wallpaper must be folded with a soft accordion, so as not to wrinkle and not stain the colored side, the wrong side - to the wrong side. And no problem.

What is the difference between a brush and a roller? Wallpaper is smooth - it is better to use a roller. Well, if with an embossed pattern - a brush. The seams between the two panels are ironed with a narrow roller. In the case of a relief pattern, they simply slap with a brush. Remove excess glue with a dry, clean cloth. Top and bottom allowances can be trimmed with a cutter or knife by pressing and measuring with a long plastic spatula. And that's all!

What else? Oh yes, the switches, the battery … The last one can be done very simply. Usually, the wallpaper is not glued behind it, because they can lag behind the heat in winter, suffer sweat, crawl around on all fours, grease and glue. It is enough to lower the panel a little, about ten to fifteen centimeters per battery. And that's enough. I do not paste over window niches - this is an occupation for professionals. Better then tint them with a suitable paint. It looks fine. Well, when the impulse to improve the window niches and, then proceed as follows. It is necessary to leave the wallpaper to protrude to the depth of the niche and not forget about the allowance. An incision must be made near the windowsill. Bend the panel to the window, glue it, and then carefully cut off the allowance.

And, finally, there are all kinds of electrical sockets, switches. In general, it is customary to glue wallpaper in daylight, it is better to turn off the electricity. Then unscrew and remove the plastic cover of the socket or switch. And glue the panel on top, as if nothing had happened. After that, make a cross-shaped incision in the area of the switch. But I do not advise you to be wrong. And cut off the excess paper, just carefully so that later the holes do not protrude from under the plastic casing when you screw it into place.

Fond people and unrestrained dreamers can take the risk of gluing curbs. Better to do it simply - stick it directly on the wallpaper and that's it. Gourmets can do otherwise. There are so-called exfoliating wallpapers. Mark the lines on the wallpaper where the borders should be glued. Then use a cutter to cut the top of the peeling wallpaper and tear it off.
