It should also be borne in mind that not all teas are created equal. In particular, it was recently revealed that tea bags contain amounts of fluoride that are hazardous to health.

Scientists from the College of Medicine at the University of Washington in St. Louis conducted a study and found that in teabags of ordinary strength, 6.5 parts of fluoride per million were present, which exceeded the permissible concentration of the substance.

According to one of the authors of the study, Professor Michael White, experts are aware of the ability of tea leaves to accumulate fluoride from soil and water.
