Japanese scientists who have conducted a study of the causes of stroke have written to interesting conclusions.

It turned out that the risk of stroke is associated not only with heredity, lifestyle or bad habits of a person, but also over time. This danger seriously increases twice a day, every 12 hours - in the morning and in the evening. Dangerous periods last approximately two hours: from six to eight in the morning and, respectively, from six to eight in the evening. The lowest risk of having a stroke is during sleep.

Despite the low percentage of strokes during sleep, those that happen are mainly ischemic (the most common type of stroke, and almost every fifth such stroke occurs at night). They usually occur in the last hours before awakening.

Scientists believe that the reason lies in the peculiarities of blood circulation in the human body, depending on its biological clock. It is known that blood pressure is highest in the morning, decreases during the day, and rises again in the evening. In addition, according to scientists, the risk of stroke is also influenced by the characteristics of the blood, which also change during the day. In the morning, the blood is thicker, which means that the risk of blood clots is higher. In the evening, the blood thinns, which increases the risk of bleeding and hemorrhagic strokes.
