Legendary couturier Giorgio Armani arrived in the Russian capital on a business visit. The day before, the famous fashion designer presented a new fall-winter 2009/2010 collection in the Emporio Armani boutique located in GUM. Almost the entire Moscow elite attended the show.

The small stands in front of the podium could not accommodate all the celebrities: because of this, the show was severely delayed. Many had to stand next to the podium, bewildered, until the last seconds before the show.
As observers of Glomu.ru note, this evening there was a terrible crush in the boutique. “This has not happened for a long time,” summed up the secular lionesses.
Among the star guests were lawyer Mikhail Barshchevsky, actress Ingeborga Dapkunaite, deputy Svetlana Khorkina, actors Oksana Fandera and Philip Yankovsky, actress Nadezhda Mikhalkova and director Rezo Gigineishvili, as well as figure skater Maria Petrova and her partner Alexei Tikhonov. And the winner of Eurovision-2008, Dima Bilan, walked along the catwalk as a fashion model.
Giorgio Armani himself appeared in front of the guests only for a few seconds on the podium after the show. The maestro gave a standing ovation, despite the fact that on the sidelines they whispered that the collection as a whole was nothing special. As the guests confessed in conversations, the very fact that the designer visited Moscow after a serious illness (the designer was diagnosed with hepatitis, and for some time he did not appear even at European Fashion Weeks) is respectful.
However, Armani himself also could not resist a compliment: “A few days ago we opened a new store in Perm and continue to promote our brand. All this suggests that Russians are ready for experiments, they value expensive, high-quality things. And I came here not just to present my new collections, but to tell my Russian clients: "Thank you!"
The couturier's immediate plans include the presentation of the Armani Prive collection, which will arrive in Moscow for the first time, and the Giorgio Armani men's collection in Barvikha Luxury Village on October 29.
