Childhood and youth

Alla Perfilova was born in the Saratov region (date of birth - 1968) into a family where music was of great importance - her parents were music teachers. His father was the director of a music school, his mother worked as a music teacher at the same school.

Her parents were awarded the title of Honored Workers of Culture.

From an early age, the girl showed a penchant for music, sincerely loved her. She grew up curious, responsible, comprehensively developed: she did well in school in all subjects, went to a music school and a dance club, and went in for sports. Everywhere she showed great ability, thoroughness and high organization. And such qualities bore fruit - she graduated from both general education and music school with gold medals.

Despite her musical successes (the girl studied in the piano class), she was more attracted to singing. The family supported her aspirations, so after school she decided to enter the department of art history at Moscow State University.

However, these plans changed, because right after graduation, Alla received an invitation from the Reflection ensemble at the Saratov Philharmonic.

In the direction of the Philharmonic, she entered the Gnessin Music and Pedagogical Institute. So the singer Valeria began her creative biography. Among the singer's mentors were Joseph Kobzon and Gelena Velikanova.

Solo career

For the first time Alla Perfilova appeared on TV screens in 1988 in the TV show "Shire Krug", where she sang the song "Be with me." During these years, Alla Pugacheva reigned on the stage, so the aspiring pop singer decided to change her name.

When the girl graduated from the musical institute, her career as a solo singer began to develop rapidly. So, in 1991, she participated in the competition for young performers and won it, and a year later she took part in the international music competition in Bratislava, where she also won. In 1992 she took part in the Jurmala festival, where she was awarded the Audience Award.

The singer Valeria recorded her debut album in 1992 after meeting with producer Alexander Shulgin. The Taiga Symphony was recorded in Germany with lyrics by Richard Niles and music by Vitaly Bondarchuk. An enormous amount of work was done: the recording was made not only in Germany, but also in Moscow and London.

Musicians from the Pet Shop Boys and Pink Floyd groups, as well as the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra took part in the recording of the album.

Also at this time, Valeria was recording an album of Russian romances, which also turned out to be very successful. The clip "Flowers" received international and Russian awards.

In 1993 Valeria married her producer Alexander Shulgin. Her husband was in charge of all aspects of her career: thinking over the image, compiling the repertoire, organizing album recordings and performances.

The singer's career developed rapidly, and in 1993 she was awarded the title of "Person of the Year".

In the same year, the recording of her next album began. The record "Anna" was released in 1995 and sazu broke all sales records, and the songs took the first lines of the music charts.

Personal life

The marriage with Alexander Shulgin turned out to be not only successful, but also their joint professional activities. As the singer said, her husband turned out to be a domestic tyrant, and she suffered physical abuse from him. Moreover, Valeria's children - Anna, Artemy and Arseny, were witnesses of all this horror.

The producer himself denied such statements by the singer. After a divorce from her, he proposed to 25-year-old Star Factory participant Yulia Mikhalchik, but the girl suddenly left him without waiting for the wedding. According to her, she had upset nerves because of her relationship with Shulgin.

A new round in your career

For a year and a half, the singer lived with her children practically without a livelihood in her parents' house. However, her career was not over. She was expecting repeated success thanks to producer Iosif Prigogine, who turned to her in 2003 and made her an offer to work together. In the same year, a new album, "Land of Love", was recorded. Viktor Drobysh acted as a sound producer.

As the singer herself said, Joseph Prigogine gave her a second wind. She opened a new page in her life, found inspiration, and the recording of the new album took place easily and in a pleasant atmosphere.

The new album has achieved unprecedented success. The singer resumed her concert activity with a big tour of Russia. In 2003 she gave more than two hundred concerts in Russia and the near abroad.

In the same year, her hit "Watch" brought her the Golden Gramophone music award. A year later, she received awards as the best performer from the Muz-TV and MTV Russia channels. The singer achieved dizzying success, and in 2005 she received the title of Honored Artist of Russia.

In 2006, her next musical disc, entitled "My Tenderness", was released, in support of which she went on a tour, culminating in a grand concert at the Olimpiyskiy sports complex in Moscow. In the same year, Valeria published her autobiography "And life, and tears, and love."

The following year, the singer and her producer announced that Valeria would stop touring Russia and plan to expand to the Western market, for which the whole family moved to London. In 2008, the English-language album "Out of Control" was released.

And 2009 was the year of a large number of international concerts. The following year, her new album, "My love is in me," was released, and in 2013 - the disc, "On the serpentine." The singer in the same year received the high title of People's Artist of Russia. A year later, she gave a big concert at London's Albert Hall.

In 2016, her seventeenth studio album, Oceans, was released. One of the most successful was her song "You are mine", which she performed together with her daughter Anna Shulgina. A video was shot for the song "The Body Wants Love" under the direction of the singer of Glory with the participation of ballet dancer Ivan Vasiliev. Valeria's provocative image drew a lot of criticism.

In 2017, Valeria took part in the talk show "Secret in a Million", in which she opened many of the veils of her personal life and shared her secrets. After the 2016 album, Valeria did not release new records, but she continues to be actively creative, releases new songs and clips, and also organizes concerts.

She is often invited to participate in programs on radio stations and major federal channels, she takes part in the jury of the international competition "New Wave", was a member of the jury of the competition for young performers "The Secret of Success".
