The funeral of the famous actress Nonna Viktorovna Mordyukova will take place in Moscow today. Farewell will take place at the cemetery. According to the will of the deceased civil funeral service, there will be no funeral service.
The funeral of the People's Artist of the USSR, who died on Sunday at the age of 83, will be held at the Kuntsevo cemetery, the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation reported. According to the Guild of Actors of the Union of Cinematographers, at 12.00 Moscow time, a funeral service will take place in the Church of the Savior Not Made by Hands on Setun, located at 18 Ryabinovaya Street.
“By the will of Nonna Viktorovna there will be no funeral service,” the Guild noted.
Nonna Mordyukova starred in about 60 films during her acting career. Moreover, the actress herself never asked for roles. And by her own calculations, she played only seven or eight standing characters in the movie. But calling the director herself and asking for a role for herself was like “offering herself to a man as a woman” for her. “Until the last moment I continued to rehearse, invented roles for myself. She just lived in cinematography,”the actress's sister shared with reporters.
We will remind, Nonna Mordyukova died on Sunday evening in a Moscow hospital at the eighty-third year of life. “Nonna said:“If I die… I want the coffin not to be opened in public, let me be remembered alive,”said the sister of the actress Natalya Viktorovna. - And she also ordered to be buried at the Kuntsevo cemetery, next to the grave of Volodya's son. And she ordered that the monument be small - no more than Volodya's. She said: "Why do I need a large monument? I am as simple a person as my son was." And so that, she said, there would be no funeral service, and so that she would be buried in a small church in the Kuntsevo cemetery."
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II and many others expressed their condolences to the family and friends of the actress.
