The sequel to the thrilling Lord of the Rings trilogy, or rather the third installment, The Return Of The King, premiered in New Zealand on Monday. Over one hundred thousand people crowded the streets of Wellington to watch the festive procession through the streets of the capital to the Embassy Theater. The stars of the film - Liv Tyler, Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood and Sir Ian McKellen - were greeted with thunderous applause as they made their way to the stage.

But the hero of the day was undoubtedly director Peter Jackson, who became something of a national hero in New Zealand. In addition to filming the epic "The Lord of the Rings", Jackson was also born in this country. “I feel incredibly happy after this greeting. After all, I just do what I love, and I do it in the country where I was born,” he says.

The first two movies from the trilogy have already grossed about 1.8 billion pounds. The third film, according to the director, is the best of all. Fans of the film will have to wait until December 17 to see Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas and Sam fight the forces of evil and save Middle-earth.
