If you like to prepare food for future use and want to feast on berries from your summer cottage in the middle of winter, then the refrigerator should have a mixing refrigerator that can quickly and deeply freeze food. The refrigerator compartment must not be filled with food to capacity - air must circulate freely between the packages.

We buy wisely

The second selection criterion is functionality. If the refrigerator has only one compressor, this means that this compressor serves both the refrigerator and the freezer. The temperature regulator is common here and it is impossible to turn off one of the refrigerator chambers without turning off the other. The main advantage of a single-compressor unit is that it costs less than a two-compressor unit. But the latter is considered more reliable, however, such a unit also consumes more electricity.

In fact, there are plenty of "bells and whistles" in modern refrigerator models: an electronic thermostat that guarantees the temperature with an accuracy of one degree, a self-test: periodic self-check and displaying a message about malfunctions, an alarm in case of an unplanned temperature change, self-tightening doors will help to avoid open doors - the technique will correct the situation itself, sliding shelves or, for example, a cold accumulator that will maintain energy in the refrigerator for more than a day in case of a power outage. All that remains is to prioritize, because you have to pay for additional amenities.

Savings must be economical

All models of refrigerators are divided into classes: from A to G. A is the most economical and, for example, a refrigerator of this class with a volume of 400 liters will consume less than 1 kW / h per day. Units with the letters B and C are considered economical, while E and G indicate high energy consumption. Most European, Russian and Belarusian refrigerators belong to the first three classes. Do not forget that with the development of technology, these classes are shifting and a class C refrigerator bought today can go into category E literally in a year.

Don't freeze me

When buying a refrigerator, the future owner must think about how to defrost it. 5-7 years ago, there was an increased demand for models with the No Frost system. This system ensures a longer preservation of the freshness of products, the weathering of specific odors, and the absence of snow build-up on the freezer. But at the same time, they work louder due to the built-in fan, dehydrate products that have not been sealed, and consume three times more electricity. Modern refrigerators without the No Frost system need defrosting 1-2 times a year.

- in the form of a recess for the hand (long nails break very easily);
