In 2009 we did a lot of voting. It's time to sum up the final results of the year. In addition, in the summer we promised to report on the predictors, and we keep our promise.

Predictor's Race: Who Came First?

In the summer, Cleo published a selection of the prophecies of famous psychics and astrologers about the events of 2009. We decided to compare their words with what will happen in reality, and find out which of them should be trusted (if anyone is worth it). Recall that most of the predictions echoed the words of Wanga:

“The world will go through many strong shocks. Times are going to be tough. People will be divided on the basis of faith. The consciousness of people will change after the 2009 catastrophe …"

Fortunately, almost everyone was wrong. But what is really there, let's face it: our predictors "flew". Anyone who has painted a grim picture of total financial collapse and its dire consequences has been proven wrong.

In 2009, fortunately, we passed both global catastrophes and the blows of the crisis (since the beginning of the year, there has been a gradual economic recovery). There were no monstrous terrorist attacks, natural disasters like the one brought to New Orleans in 2005 by Hurricane Katrina. Of course, planes fell, houses burned, earthquakes happened, politicians quarreled, but show us a time when this did not happen.

Pavel Globa broadcast about a new grandiose round of the crisis in the summer, Maria Duval talked about the collapse of the dollar in the fall, Mehdi Ebrahimi Wafa - that at the end of the year a bipartisan system will be established in Russia. None of this was even close.

Perhaps the most realistic forecasts were given by Zulia Radjabova. She talked about rather mundane things: that oil prices in 2009 after the fall will rise again, and real estate in Moscow will not become cheap. And so it was. An interesting detail: the psychic stated that Abramovich was not going to marry Daria Zhukova. And after all, there really was no wedding, although the couple already even had a child!

It's time to remember other striking characters for whom Cleo's readers voted for throughout the year. Here are some interesting polls.

Somehow we decided to hold a "championship" among those who are supposed to exude attractiveness and sex appeal according to their position. Surprisingly: among the most popular male models in the world in 2009, both handsome and disliked grubby were found! The sultry macho David Gandhi became the absolute leader (33% of the votes). Danny Schwartz, the owner of impeccably correct features, received almost half the votes. The third was the brutal Spaniard John Kortayarena. And for some reason, only three Cleovans (0% of the votes) voted for the handsome Tyler Riggs, who is in great demand in advertising …

We also studied handsome princes - those who are not married. Of course, we have not forgotten about women either. In the poll about the sexiest star after 40 years, Monica Bellucci won! It seems that Monica, as one of her heroines (in the film "The Brothers Grimm"), knows the secret of eternal youth. It is very difficult to believe that this bright beauty is already 45 years old. In second place - Jennifer Lopez, in third - Salma Hayek.

It's a professional duty for stars to look good. What would happen if Bellucci had to pore over papers and conduct complex negotiations for twelve hours a day? Being a politician and staying feminine at the same time is a real achievement.
