In 2012, the artist had a stroke. Zharkov was temporarily paralyzed. In early March 2016, another attack occurred. On June 5, Alexei Dmitrievich passed away. “A surprisingly talented artist, a modest, kind person has left,” the Union of Cinematographers said in a statement.
