Where to celebrate the New Year?
Where to celebrate the New Year?

"Have you already figured out who you will celebrate the New Year with?" - they ask you almost daily. And you do not know what to answer, because the New Year is a family holiday, and in the public consciousness there are only several ways of celebrating legalized: up to a certain age - with parents, after - with a man. Better with your own. Very good - with the legal one. And if you do not yet know how and with whom you are going to listen to the chimes, then you risk feeling unhappy and lonely. Can this be avoided?

Points of view

“I can’t stand the New Year,” says 23-year-old Marina, “because every time I have to figure out where to put myself on that night. It turns out that I spend all the time a festive night in the company of strangers, among whom I feel like I’m superfluous…” …

"This year I divorced my husband. Naturally, all these years we celebrated the holiday together, and now my relatives look at me with poorly concealed pity …" - opinion of Tatiana, 27 years old.

“I have long figured out how to celebrate the New Year,” says 19-year-old Olga, “I'll just go to bed at eleven. with whom I could celebrate the New Year, and then spend it."

New Year blues

Such thoughts: where to celebrate the New Year? Come to mind if not all, then - many. And others, less clearly formulated: "everything seems to be there, but something is gnawing in the depths of the soul, and the walls around are gray, and the thoughts are gray …". In general, "the crocodile is not caught, the coconut does not grow." These are the first symptoms of pre-holiday stress when you discover: huge elegant Christmas trees are already flickering on the streets and garlands and lanterns are already hung, but your soul is empty and somehow restless. Another year has passed, and we are not getting any younger. But that's okay …

We begin to feel that we are not becoming more attractive, smarter, richer, more successful, or happier. And if this year, among other things, you have not met the Man of Your Dreams again, then all the components of the winter blues are at your complete disposal. We'll have to urgently pull ourselves together and look for effective recipes for this scourge.

Achievement Diary

The first thing that would be good to do on the eve of the arrival of the New Year is to draw up an annual report. No, no, not the report that you are used to drawing up at work, but the one that contains your personal achievements and discoveries. Your new impressions and acquaintances. Your pleasures and joys. You can even think of nominations: "trip of the year", "job of the year", "acquisition of the year", "impression of the year", "best morning of the year", "lover of the year", "husband of the year" … Anything can become an eventful occasion - even that, which at first glance seems like a trifle. You can even invite your friends-girlfriends to write something similar, and then share their impressions - and even boast! - over a bottle of champagne and pineapple pieces.

New Year atmosphere

The feeling of a holiday comes with some seemingly insignificant details: with an old garland, the smell of a spruce twig, a favorite New Year's melody or the joy of gifts. This means that you can create a festive atmosphere yourself, skillfully recreating its components. Slowly - and certainly a pleasure! - decorate the Christmas tree, decorate the apartment and start New Year's shopping. You need to come up with what you will meet the cherished midnight, and most importantly, what will you give your environment.

Common sense dictates: the best gifts are chosen in advance, although lazy indifference from year to year forces us to stand in long lines on December 31 for absolutely unnecessary (neither to us, nor to our loved ones) trinkets. But it is so nice to please your loved ones if you approach donation with a soul!

Cherished desires

Think in advance what wishes you will make on New Year's Eve. This is not just a beautiful tradition that came from childhood, but an excellent way to clearly formulate (first of all, to yourself) your desires, goals and ways to achieve them. New Year's Eve provides an opportunity to cross out all the failures of the past and try to start over. The first of January may become for you not just the first day of a new calendar year, but an opportunity for changes. Be fully armed: know what you want to achieve. And let, as the old toast says, your desires will be overwhelmed by your possibilities.

Arm with Santa Claus

Here's another way, with whom and where to celebrate the New Year - One of the most effective ways to get rid of the pre-holiday angst is, surprisingly, to try to rid others of it. (A paradoxical principle is at work here: the one who works worst of all leads the best). For this you will need:

- Santa Claus costume (you can buy, rent in theaters or special wardrobe rooms, look from friends or sew yourself) - 1 pc.

- Snow Maiden costume (search method - similar) - 1 pc.

- Man (old friends, friends tested in adventures and new acquaintances, whose charm made an indelible impression on you, are ideal) - 1 pc.

- Nice New Year's souvenirs - 1 kg.

- Little free time.

- Great mood and courage are in abundance.

You can safely start congratulating friends and acquaintances in costumes on New Year's Eve itself, and a few days before it, and in early January.

Some psychologists believe that creative exploration of the surrounding reality is the best way to cope with feelings of loneliness (which, by the way, may not be true loneliness at all). If you manage to create a festive mood for others, it will definitely come back to you.

Five minutes to twelve

Where to celebrate the New Year, with whom and how, no matter how you decide, try not to be alone. The ability to calmly accept your loneliness (external or internal) is good, but still, not during the moments of a national holiday. Try this night to become a holiday person who brings sparkling happiness with you. Let go of negative experiences and gloomy thoughts, make yourself frivolous and inspired - after all, New Year's feelings come to those who are prepared. And remember the old Eastern wisdom: "everything will be fine, everything is already fine, and with you too" …
