Croatia, located on the Balkan Peninsula, attracts holidaymakers with the opportunity to have fun and cheap holidays in a ski resort, and then visit medieval castles and monasteries. Clean air and gorgeous caves located in the Plitvice Lakes National Park will not leave indifferent even those who are not inclined to romance.
Every year, vouchers are booked in advance to this beautiful country, but some Russian citizens prefer independent travel along their own route. Therefore, the question of whether Russians need a visa to Croatia in 2018 does not lose its relevance. After all, the mountainous country is no less attractive in the summer for the cleanliness of the beaches and luxurious service.
Visa regime for the Russian Federation
In 2013, a visa regime was introduced for Russian citizens, and at the time of 2018 it remains unchanged. Without this document, crossing the borders of the state of Croatia is prohibited. The purpose of the trip does not play any role in this. In addition, the country is part of the EU, so a visa is issued according to the Schengen rules.
Having a permit to enter one of the EU member states greatly simplifies the registration process. It is also allowed to visit Croatia for those who have a residence permit in one of the Schengen countries.
Basic rules for entering the territory of the state:
- Having a valid permit to enter other EU countries under the Schengen agreement at least twice.
- If the visa is issued by another state, it is important to travel from it. This will help to avoid problems during the rest.
- When a national Croatian visa is issued, and not a Schengen visa, it is possible to enter only the territory of Croatia. Visiting EU countries on it is prohibited.
The registration of the document takes place directly at the travel agency issuing the voucher. Or perhaps a visit to the Croatian Consulate or the regional visa center, which is in every city.
In this case, it is important:
- submit an application about the desire to visit the state no later than 3 months before the visit;
- in this case, departure from the territory of Russia should be planned no earlier than 10 days after obtaining a visa;
- an application can be submitted by a legal representative of a citizen of the Russian Federation, and only the traveler himself can pick it up.
Visa processing cost
Due to the ability to apply for a visa in various ways, there are several price ranges of payment. It can be produced in rubles or euros, depending on the place of receipt:
- the embassy with the usual registration - 35 euros;
- urgent receipt at the embassy - 70 euros;
- Croatian visa center - 19 euros or in rubles at the current exchange rate;
- in a travel agency the cost will be from 50 to 100 euros.
Consideration of an application is counted from the date of application and ranges from three to five days. If you have questions about the reliability of the information provided about a citizen of the Russian Federation or incorrectly executed documents, the procedure may be delayed.
In this case, everything is individual. Therefore, it is important to take your time and fill out all the fields of the questionnaire and applications with the utmost accuracy and truthfulness.
List of required documents
To obtain a national visa that allows you to visit only Croatia, the following package of documents is required:
- tourist application;
- photo of a given format;
- life insurance, issued according to Schengen rules;
- the presence on the account of an amount of 30 thousand euros and a paper from the bank confirming this fact;
- amount for rest at the rate of 50 euros per day for 1 person;
- a foreign passport that is valid for at least 3 more months and a copy of it;
- receipts for payment of all necessary visa and service fees;
- documents confirming the purpose of the trip (invitation, voucher);
- a separate passport and relevant legal documents must be issued for the child according to general rules.
If the documents are in order and all the nuances in registration are observed, there will be no problems with obtaining a visa.
