The second day of the Haute Couture Week in Paris was marked by the invasion of Hollywood stars and a colorful palette of collections from the leading fashion houses Jean Paul Gaultier and Giorgio Armani Prive.

Victoria Beckham, Catherine Deneuve and many other famous ladies without taking their eyes watched from the first rows of the inimitable works of design art that appeared on the catwalk with the light submission of maestro Jean-Paul Gaultier.

The self-taught fashion designer who once dressed Madonna and elevated her style to cult status in the late 1980s is now himself inspired by the singer and her lifestyle. The fashion designer does not hide that he dedicated his next haute couture collection of the spring-summer 2007 season to this unique queen of the pop scene.

"Divine serenity" - this is how one of the most iconic designers of the 20th century explained his main aspiration. According to Gaultier, at the stage of his 30th anniversary of his career, he feels ready to emerge from the crazy maelstrom of fashion weeks and calm down. But this is still a long way off.

So far, the great couturier, who once destroyed the canons and aroused the wrath of the defenders of morality, released on the catwalk "new saints" with gilded halos, wreaths of thorns over their heads and tears painted under their eyes, in long monochromatic dresses made of thin satin, in fluffy tutu skirts and embroidered multi-colored thread corsets on ribbons. The girls radiated calmness and serenity. The theme of the church manifested itself on the fabric itself - a special applause was awarded to several "column" dresses with appliqués in the spirit of Renaissance church paintings and images of the Madonna and Child.

The main character of the show was the famous dancer Dita von Teese, who recently filed for divorce from her husband Marilyn Manson. The beautiful Dita appeared on the catwalk in a chiseled black suit of an original form with a narrow knee-length skirt and bright red patent leather platform sandals. The head of the black-haired burlesque star was adorned with a miniature red rose hat, and the image of the repentant sinner was completed by a neat lace scarf in her hand, which caused special delight among the guests of the show.

Giorgio Armani, whose show was attended by his muse Katie Holmes and actress Cate Blanchett among others, presented at Paris Haute Couture Week a collection of as always elegant classic evening dresses and discreet formal suits, playing with fabric and color and adding playful touches like tight-fitting ones to conservative outfits. leggings in metallic or openwork mesh, flirtatiously revealing the chest.

“When I first started creating haute couture collections, it was a great challenge for me,” the fashion designer admitted after the show. - I have worked with prêt-a-porter clothes all my life, so I was afraid that I would not be able to reach the level at which the designers who traditionally participate in the Parisian fashion shows work. However, now I see that I have grown above myself, and, to be honest, I am very proud of it. The designer added that while creating the collection, he was inspired by the traditions of Indian maharajas and the images of heroic men adorned with precious stones - from there he got both refined gilded turbans that adorned the heads of models, and rich brooches on narrow jackets and miniature fitted dresses.

After the show, Cate Blanchett, a fan of conservative style from Giorgio Armani, shared her enthusiastic impressions of the collection of her favorite fashion designer. “I haven’t decided what I’m going to wear for the Oscar,” said the award-nominated actress. "But I will definitely pick something up for myself in this collection."

The actress will be where to choose the appropriate toilet for the upcoming ceremony. For the show of the new collection, Giorgio Armani also timed the opening of his brand boutique on the legendary Avenue Montaigne in Paris.
