According to the observations of experts, as a rule, those who skip breakfast during the day arrange for themselves a kind of compensation in the form of not very healthy chips, chocolate, cookies.

According to a study by British nutritionists in the so-called Breakfast Week, people usually skipped breakfast because they were not hungry (30%) or preferred to lie in bed for a longer time in the morning (23%). 12% simply forgot to eat breakfast, and another 12% are too busy to devote time to preparing breakfast.

However, don't underestimate the importance of breakfast. It has been found that women who consume half of their daily calories in the morning lose weight more effectively than those who eat little or no breakfast in the morning. In addition, the risk of regaining the lost pounds is significantly reduced for ladies who have a hearty breakfast. At the same time, breakfast affects what foods a person will eat during the day. So, if a person did not eat breakfast, in 27% of cases he wanted a chocolate bar and in 10% of cases he bought soda for lunch. Meanwhile, if a person ate breakfast, the indicators dropped to 13% and 4%, respectively. The reason is the drop in blood sugar caused by skipping breakfast. The body will still require its own, and quite quickly and in the form of junk food.

Nutritionists advise: if you are not hungry in the morning, opt for something light. Or eat breakfast later, for example, at work.
