“I've been working on a new album for some time now. This is a job that I love and I am very excited,”the star told PEOPLE. The singer will also continue her performances at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

Her new performances will begin in February 2019. “I feel like I am now in a period in my life where I can fully express myself as a songwriter and singer. I just feel very good,”says Mariah.

Despite the fact that her album should be "modern", the singer insists that she does not intend to follow any trends. “My fans want to hear how I express myself, want to hear me speak from my heart and sing with my heart,” said the singer. - Some of the compositions will be light and funny, while others will be lyrical. It will be a mixture of different things."

When Carey returns to Vegas, she intends to update the playlist. “I really enjoy performing there,” she admits. - Many fans who came to the show were happy that I was performing different songs. I want to make the show even more diverse in order to surprise the listeners and make them come again and again."

It is also reported that Mariah spends the summer with her seven-year-old twins. “As soon as I have free time, we go somewhere to have fun,” says the star. "We are from New York, but have been living in Los Angeles for a long time, where they can just leave the house and play in the yard or pool."

Her children from ex-husband Nick Cannon are growing fast and are already showing character. “They love each other, but now they are doing a lot apart,” said Carey. - But still they spend more time together, and I hope that this will continue for the rest of their lives. There is nothing better than such closeness."

We will remind, not so long ago, the singer spoke about her struggle with bipolar disorder. She found out about her diagnosis in 2001, and the subsequent years she lived in fear that someone would find out about it. “It was too heavy a burden to bear, and I could no longer do it. I turned for help and treatment, I surrounded myself with positive people and returned to what I love most - to writing songs and making music,”Mariah said earlier.
