The red carpet is an obligatory symbol of the A-class international film festival. The stars are walking along this path in Cannes, and exactly the same one was spread out on the steps of the Pushkinskiy cinema in Moscow. Nikita Mikhalkov and other organizers of the festival stood at the entrance to the cinema. The ceremony was reminiscent of a reception at a royal palace, or at least the way things like this are shown in the movies. At the top of the staircase is the cinematic king with his entourage, and the cinema-people with greetings ascend the steps to him.

The participants in the closing ceremony of the Moscow Film Festival were lucky: there was no rain and there was no scorching heat, which negates the evening make-up and makes the procedure of showing oneself exhausting. The orchestra playing jazz was sometimes drowned out by people's exclamations - so the audience saw Marat Basharov at red carpet … Notepads, calendars, magazines were drawn to the actor - many wanted an autograph. They reacted in the same way to other recognizable persons. More recently, visiting stars aroused much more enthusiasm in the audience than Russian artists. But times have changed - the appearance of local celebrities was perceived much more violently than foreign guests.

Of course, evening dress is one of the most important attributes of a social event, but this concept is very conditional in the modern world. Tuxedo is optional.

The public's favorite Marat Basharov appeared at the ceremony in a white jacket and "dress" jeans. As for the ladies, for some reason many preferred black dresses. By the cut of some it was possible to understand what trace the era of antiquity left in modern European culture. Still, the ancient Greeks and Romans gave a lot not only to the exact sciences, but also to clothes, if fashion designers still refer to their achievements no less often than mathematicians to "Pythagorean pants".

Beauty Ekaterina Volkova on red carpet was dressed in an elegant black dress with a high waist and a flying long skirt. Of course, the alliance with Eduard Limonov deprived her of long hair (recall that the actress even cut her hair baldly, and now she has a perky boyish haircut), but at the same time, the actress is a clear example of the fact that true femininity is something more than a braid to belts.

Mysterious Renata Litvinova does not change her style: she appeared on red carpet in a gorgeous black dress in the style of the pre-war years. The artist's hairstyle was completed with a mesh - you can still find these in the chests of our grandmothers. The fashionable retro style nowadays was very useful.

Renata, as befits a professional, approached the photographers and, competently, posed. Then she slowly began to climb the stairs. She was accompanied by a tall girl in huge dark glasses. The crowd whispered that the young lady looked like a famous rock star. The close friendship of two extraordinary and undoubtedly talented ladies gives rise to a lot of rumors …

Olesya Sudzilovskaya wore a long silk dress of deep purple color, and the French guest Michelle Yeoh wore a narrow black dress with a corset. Evgenia Kryukova wore a colorful dress in black and white, which looked gorgeous in combination with a simple classic hairstyle. Now it was Svetlana Khorkina's turn to surprise the audience - she appeared in a man's suit. Recall that at the opening ceremony Tina Kandelaki was dressed as a "young man".

Everyone was waiting: what will Emir Kusturica be wearing? The direct director at the opening of the festival appeared in a tailcoat presented to him by Mikhalkov - he did not have his own. But this time he was wearing a light green Mercury suit. "Nikita, brother, I have changed the designer!" - he admitted. Even on the opening day, Kusturica lamented that few directors attend the film festival from start to finish. The man said - the man did. The Emir showed how one can “embrace the immensity”: he opened a film festival, flew to Paris for the premiere of his opera, and returned to Moscow again to close the film festival.

Let us remind you that Vera Storozheva received the Golden George for the best film for the film Traveling with Pets. A special prize was awarded to the painting "Russian Triangle" by Aleko Tsabadze (Georgia). As for the “Perspectives” debutant competition, the winner was the film “Monotony” by Juris Poskus from Latvia.

Best Director was Giuseppe Tornatore for the film "The Stranger".

- I want to dedicate this award to the actress who played the main role in the film - Ksenia Rappoport, - Tornatore made a beautiful gesture.

Recall that Ksenia is an actress from the St. Petersburg Maly Drama Theater.

Best Actress was awarded to Kirsty Stubo (Opium, directed by Janos Szasz), and Fabrice Luchini (Moliere, Laurent Tirard) was named Best Actor. As for the audience's sympathy, the favorites were two films - the already mentioned "Stranger" and "Moliere".

The Konstantin Stanislavsky Prize for Outstanding Acting Skill “I Believe” went to Daniel Olbrychsky. The Polish actor, accepting the prize from the hands of the legendary Frenchman Claude Lelush, talked about his friend Bulat Okudzhava. And then, suddenly, he dispersed and told how in his youth he came to the Moscow International Film Festival and drank heavily with Nikita Mikhalkov. The president of the Moscow International Film Festival, who had just with a bold gesture removed the chairperson's chain from the head of the jury, Australian Fred Skepsy, and when the musicians had nowhere to accommodate, without any special ceremony he drove the jury into the hall, somehow unexpectedly begged: "Not a word further!"

All in all, it was fun.
