Most people experience psychological discomfort when changing jobs.

Factors contributing to this, especially at first, are many: new responsibilities and areas of responsibility, a large amount of work and, of course, worries about how to join an unfamiliar team.

The latter, by the way, raises special concerns among newcomers. After all, there is nothing worse than disagreement with colleagues. Sometimes it is this circumstance that pushes desperate employees to take radical measures - dismissal of their own free will and search for a new job. To make it much easier to communicate with colleagues, find friends with the same interests among them. Are you a good golf player or are you an avid fan of a soccer team? Crocheting, collecting Beatles collectible records and promoting healthy lifestyles? Be sure that any person will be happy to keep up a conversation on topics of concern to him, even during working hours. Sharing interests will allow you to communicate more often with colleagues and will help you bond.

However, even if you easily find a common language with unfamiliar people, casually chatting with them about everything in the world, remember that there are topics that should be avoided in conversations at the workplace.

Impose a categorical taboo on discussing your personal life, do not publicize your failures in the professional field and health problems, in other words - do not be too frank. Still, colleagues are not the best friends on whom you can confidently rely on everything, and sometimes, sadly, being too outspoken can play against you.

It also happens that a good position, salary and a solid record in the work book are not all the bonuses that you get when moving to a new job. The most significant of them may be an attractive and promising man at the next table, with whom you suddenly have an irresistible mutual attraction. Nevertheless, HR specialists strongly recommend: no love relationships with work colleagues for at least the first two months. Otherwise, the bosses and subordinates may consider you frivolous and unreliable, and behind your back they will only whisper that you have an affair without having time to settle in a new place.

A great way to win over a colleague is to help him in some way. If, for example, you are fluent in a foreign language, it would be quite appropriate to offer your services to a person who clearly has problems writing business letters to foreign management.

It will not cost you colossal efforts, but he will join the ranks of your "supporters", and you, in turn, will be able to count on all possible help from him. Although such an initiative can have negative consequences - you should choose such a line of behavior so that your colleagues at work do not get the impression that you are ready to do someone else's work for free, just to win them over. Feel free to offer your help, but be careful and don't overdo it.

Contrary to the common misconception that newcomers should not stand out among colleagues by their actions and judgments, not all of their initiatives are punishable. Do not be afraid to prove yourself, correctly express your position and have the courage to defend it. Believe me, this behavior will please the management and will inspire respect from colleagues, provided that you are cultured and not arrogant. Fear of expressing your opinion and unconditional agreement with everything that is offered to you, regardless of whether it is correct or not, in the work collective in the shortest possible time will be equated with cowardice, and you will lose any opportunity to earn credibility among colleagues.

Be part of a team - regularly attend corporate events and colleagues' birthdays. Even if it is not customary in the team to celebrate holidays, do not be afraid to start this tradition. You can easily organize your own party at home for no particular reason. This will help you bond with your colleagues and create the preconditions for your good relationships.

Follow the trends in the office: determine who is the leader in the team, what mood prevails in it, what is acceptable in communication with management and subordinates, or, on the contrary, is completely inappropriate.

So, sometimes even in the offices of the most reputable companies one can hear indecent anecdotes, and this does not cause any complaints from anyone. In another place, this can be regarded as disrespect for the interlocutors and be an indicator of the low level of culture of employees. The special predilections of colleagues can also be a surprise. For example, to excessive fitness or dietary supplements. But even if you are an ardent opponent of such trends, you should not openly demonstrate this, because the opposition point of view is not the best basis for friendly relations. Remember, being part of a team also means being a bearer of corporate culture. Take a closer look at your colleagues - how they talk, behave with clients and each other, what professional tricks they use. Be sure that by reasonably adopting their demeanor and habits, you will significantly reduce the distance between you, which at first seems insurmountable.

Radiate positive! Start your day with a smile, and when you come to the office, generously share it with everyone you meet. A positive attitude more than once will help you get out of a delicate situation without loss and smooth over sharp corners in communication at work.

Do not skimp on compliments to your colleagues, regardless of their gender, but remember that everything should be in moderation. Whenever possible, try to avoid conflicts in the workplace, so as not to complicate the already difficult working days. Never stoop to gossip and do not allow yourself to be disrespectful to colleagues - refrain from swearing and harsh statements about them.

Teamwork is an important part of your professional life. If you are lucky and they will work out, the acquired friends, useful acquaintances and a good name will forever remain with you. However, do not forget that a “good person” is not a profession. Having got the desired position, do not be too lazy to thoroughly delve into the essence of the work and your professional responsibilities. Otherwise, even your colleagues, sooner or later, will not save you from losing your job.
