Fans of making all sorts of ratings and conducting polls, the British have recently chosen the most disappointing sights of their country and the rest of the world. The first places on the list were Stonehenge, the Eiffel Tower, Times Square and the Egyptian pyramids. The survey was conducted by Virgin Travel Insurance, the largest travel insurance company.

Travelers are also not happy with Buckingham Palace and the White House in Washington - in their opinion, these memorable places are too mundane and of no interest to ordinary tourists. The list also includes the legendary painting by Leonardo Da Vinci "Mona Lisa", which hangs in a small hall of the Parisian Louvre - according to tourists, it attracts too many visitors who come there solely to take a photo, but not at all because of respect for art.

Topping the list, Stonehenge has earned a notoriety among tourists due to its location between two of the UK's heavily congested freeways. Stonehenge director Peter Carson said: "Stonehenge is on the list of must-see attractions, although the current infrastructure for visitors is too small compared to the annual number of tourists."
