British scientists have denied the claim that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. As their study showed, breakfast does not trigger metabolic processes in the body at all and does not help to eat less for lunch and dinner.

Scientists from the British University of Beta have found that the morning meal is not as important as all nutritionists in the world are used to saying. Researchers believe there is no relationship between breakfast and metabolism. They also state that a hearty breakfast does not guarantee a less hearty lunch or dinner.

Scientists observed subjects for six weeks and concluded that there is no change in metabolic rate for those who eat 700 calories for breakfast, and those who do not eat it at all. On the contrary, it turned out that people who skipped breakfast consumed much fewer calories, since they did not "get" them from any other meal.

As a result, the scientists stated that breakfast is not a “metabolic trigger” at all, as scientists and nutritionists are used to thinking about it. The well-being and excellent physical shape of those who regularly start their day with a good breakfast is explained rather not by the breakfast itself, but by the lifestyle of such people - they, as a rule, do not eat junk food, carefully monitor their health and play sports.

By “good breakfast,” nutritionists usually mean oatmeal, omelet with vegetables, whole grain bread sandwich with lean poultry and herbs, and cottage cheese. Despite the statement of British scientists, nutritionists still advise their clients to start the day with a hearty breakfast, explaining that it is the morning meal that allows us to stay slim and energized for the whole day.
