According to scientists from the Center for Statistical Genetics at the University of Michigan, genes do not play any role in the formation of personality. Facial features, physique, gait and even handwriting are indeed inherited. But bad habits like tapping your teeth with a pencil are not.

In other words, hereditary material influences the physiological characteristics of a person much more than his intellect. And yet, according to Michigan researchers, the main parameters - height, weight, figure - are determined by a combination of genes by only 51 percent. That is, it is not a fact that the tendency to be overweight, found in your mother, will certainly be passed on to you. The features of the body's systems are associated with genetics only 25 percent. These 25% just fit dysfunctions, be it a weak heart, a defect in the locomotor system, or, on the contrary, skeletal excesses like six-fingered.

So, American geneticists are convinced that, in the main, the personality of a person is formed by His Majesty Chance. Cases constitute a kind of mathematical shell for every member of modern society. The accumulated experience gives form to the personality, and over time this form ossifies.
