You are very mistaken if you think that the ability to correctly express your thoughts is something that is given only to some lucky people from birth. The ability to attract interlocutors who are ready to listen to you day and night is a profitable business. And no matter at what age you think about the time to hone your oratory skills, the main thing is to think and start to act.

You've probably heard people say about a rather attractive girl: "Yes, she is beautiful … Until she opens her mouth!" And the point, as a rule, is not only that a woman's voice is squeaky or too harsh, but most often that all her speech is a continuous "uh, mmmm, how it is, as it were, shorter" … Unfortunately, not all of us know how to correctly and beautifully express our thoughts and thus often scare others away from ourselves: who wants to have conversations with a girl who formulates one simple sentence for 10 minutes, and then generously spices it with words-parasites and abnormal vocabulary?

It is unlikely that the recruiter will be imbued with sympathy for you if from the first minutes of the interview you will be, as they say, "no, no me, no crow." At best, they will not call you back, and at worst, they will say right at the meeting: "Sorry, you are not suitable for us." We think you have managed to realize all the benefits of the ability to express your thoughts beautifully and are already ready to start "training". In this case, let's not put them on the back burner, let's start right here and now!

From now on, we do not ignore unfamiliar words, naively believing that they will not be useful to us.

Increasing vocabulary

From now on, we do not ignore unfamiliar words, naively believing that they will not be useful to us. Now we do not hesitate to ask the interlocutor about the meaning of which we do not know or do not fully understand. In addition, we always carry a notebook and a pen with us, and if we see or hear something that seems to us to be a fragment of an alien speech, we write it down on a piece of paper, and then at home or at work we diligently look for the meaning of new words. We decided to seriously tackle our vocabulary. Are you with us?

Read-write-speak

Remember how school teachers emphasized the relationship between a love of reading, the ability to write excellent essays and the ability to communicate their thoughts correctly? They didn’t do this to improve their overall performance. They understood perfectly well: a person who prefers to read fiction rather than dubious "yellow" newspapers over a morning cup of tea is constantly confronted with the correct Russian language - a figurative text rich in all kinds of speech patterns, which has undergone careful editing.

Train yourself to read at least a few pages of an interesting book every day, and then resort to a little trick: as soon as you finish with one chapter, do a short written retelling of what you read.

At first, such an exercise will seem difficult to you, and the words will not add up to beautiful sentences, but time will pass, and you yourself will not notice how you will begin to masterfully express your thoughts on paper and, most importantly, orally.

Working on diction

Still, whatever you say, it is much more pleasant to listen to a person who expresses his thoughts articulately, does not "swallow" half a word and pronounces all the sounds clearly and clearly. You can hardly remember at least one famous TV presenter whose speech could not be understood due to poor diction. You want to listen to these people, oratory is their main weapon. It's time for you to work on diction too. Perform special exercises for articulation every day, hone it on tongue twisters (for example, “The ship tacked, but didn’t catch it”, “Sasha walked along the highway and sucked drying”), pay attention to correct breathing, because it is this that contributes to the formation of a pleasant timbre and relieves us from stuttering and stuttering.

Getting rid of words-parasites

Of course, reading fiction will help you in this "struggle", but we will try to enhance the effect: carefully monitor what you say, and "punish" yourself for every "kind of, that is, in general, in short", etc. … They said the word-parasite - pinched their hand. Of course, it is not always possible to control your own speech, but over time you will not have to do this. We are confident that hard work will help you become a great speaker.

They said the word-parasite - pinched their hand.

We play synonyms

You can do this alone, or with your family or friends. Open a dictionary or other book on any page and randomly choose a word for which you will come up with synonyms. This exercise will help you to make your speech richer and relieve you of the awkward moments when, not knowing what to say, you just “hum” and repeat the drawn-out “eeeeee”.
