Sister and brother - Ira and Vitya "got" a separate room for their personal use. Let's think what should be a children's room? Irochka turned four, and her mother decided that imported white furniture and white wallpaper in a small flower would be perfect for the girl. The son, the seventh grader, was given the former parental bedroom without any special alterations: light, clean, calm pastel colors.

The children were delighted! But after a month or two, my mother noticed: Irochka always complains about the cold in her "light", became lethargic, apathetic, although it was quite warm in her room, Vitya pasted over literally all the walls with posters of screaming colors, with portraits of some kind of rock stars, not paying attention to the urgent requests of adults to comply with the measure. And the problem is in one, and in another case, just that the parents have arranged both rooms "for themselves", according to their "taste and color", and not in the way the child himself dreams.

Private property must be respected

Each person, even one who has just been born, is already a character, already an individuality. And parents, grandparents need to be very careful about his inner world. And about the outside world - to take care of very tactfully. After all, the bulk of information - up to 80% - a person "gains" up to 5-7 years. And what surrounds a child from childhood often plays a decisive role in his entire life. Therefore, try to ensure that the child has its own "territory" from birth. In the first year or two, it is not even necessary that it be a separate room: the kids feel much calmer closer to their mother.

If the child is next to his parents, his "corner" can simply be fenced off with a screen, which are now on sale, by coloring it with bright, interesting pictures.

My home is my joy

But here the child has his own room, and the question arises: what should be a children's room? If he is already 4-5 years old, the most important thing is to consult with him and choose everything - from wallpaper to door handles - together. I assure you that you will learn a lot of new and unexpected things about your own child - just try to be attentive to his wishes.

Wallpaper

Mathematician Sofya Kovalevskaya was able to make a brilliant career largely thanks to her phenomenal memory. And all because once, in childhood, on one of the walls in the nursery … there was not enough wallpaper, and it was pasted over with pages from a textbook on higher mathematics. And the child literally absorbed the most complex formulas, which were difficult for adults, with mother's milk!

Therefore, try to organize the child's information environment optimally: you can place cards, letters, any beautiful and useful reference materials on the walls. Don't forget about the "gallery" space! In order not to spoil the walls, it is enough to fix a wooden or plastic rail at the level of the child's eyes, so that he can independently fix his drawings on it. If the child is 2-3 years old, you can generally leave one wall at the level of his growth clean, pasting it with white paper - let him draw. But older children should already keep order and not paint on the walls!

A few general tips:

1. rooms facing north will be even "colder" with light wallpaper.

2. in a light "southern" room (if it is large), you can experiment with contrasting or even dark wallpaper.

3. Experts advise to cover the room for small children with wallpaper of calm colors, but from the age of 3 it is already necessary to "load" the child with bright colors and emotions.

Furniture

The main advantages of children's furniture are functionality and safety. Therefore, it is better to initially abandon everything unnatural. Beautiful imported furniture, despite the high price, is often made of chipboard, which is not just harmful - it is hazardous to health. It is better to give up foam mattresses, now there are excellent products on sale with natural "filling", for example, with seaweed.

Children love bunk beds, but before "allocating" places, ask who wants to dwell where, so that the owner of the lower shelf does not develop complexes.

To make the best use of the space, the toy boxes, which can be put under the bed, in the built-in wardrobes, will help you.

And remember the golden rule for the nursery - the less furniture, the better. Especially if the children are small.

Toys

Usually there are plenty of toys, and there are a lot of problems with them. But it is not worth, as many parents believe, to immediately get rid of all the toys of the grown children: leave two or three of the most beloved ones, and the others can be removed (not thrown away!), Taken to the dacha. For games and for storing toys, a spacious chest with a fabric lining is perfect to keep them from dust. Such chests of various sizes are now on sale, for example, relatively cheap wicker chests from Korea and China.

Here are a few words about what should be a children's room, in a word, more imagination. But, you need to fantasize with the child. After all, it is for him to live in this room. And your role is to help him arrange his "home" so that he does not feel like a guest in it.
