When we talk about casual style, we most often mean jeans, because it is difficult to imagine a more versatile type of clothing. Jeans are worn when they want to look their best, and when they do not think about it at all. A man in jeans just wants to be himself, to be outside of social conventions. We talked about people in jeans, about modern fashion, about street fashion trends with three designers of the American clothing brand Taya Jeans:

Michael: Asking a designer about fashion is like talking to a chef about food. In a global sense, fashion is an ocean with strong currents. These currents are run by designers. We do not create fashion - we give it form, let it "speak". I'm more interested in talking about casual stylewhere our team works, as well as about the life of the Taya Jeans brand. By the way, I like that in Russia young people and girls have begun to understand clothes. Not in fashion, not in brands, but in clothes. Previously, the only criterion for selection was price: it's expensive, which means it's good. This is not the case now: young people spend their money very wisely and dress tastefully! Clothes are chosen because they are of high quality, fit well and look decent.

Our customers follow the fashion and are very sensitive to its changes. Many brands, by the way, left the race because they underestimated the exactingness of the Russian audience.

We are interested in offering something new. However, everyone has new items - but there are general trends, and there are individual findings. Let's say the hit now is an elongated waist. The most "top" models are corset jeans, which are fastened almost under the bust. We very carefully developed templates for them in order to emphasize only the dignity of the figure. The pendulum swung in the other direction: tunics and knitted dresses with jeans or leggings replaced them. Michael's favorite in the collection is a flirty white tank top with striped trim, softly fitting and flattering. He loves it not only because it is his development. Even in college, Michael was attracted to the Empire style: his accent line under the breasts adorns any girl. By the way, there is also an opposite model in our collection - a tunic with a thin belt on the hips. This is Frank's idea: he wanted to create a dress that would flow over the figure and at the same time fit it. The silhouette is also emphasized by the print: a rigid studio microphone stand with a flying light wire. This casual style is to everyone's liking, and we love it.

Michael: Speaking of prints! Have you ever wondered why they are used much less in women's collections than in men's? For two reasons.

Firstly, because subconsciously women choose clothes that emphasize the figure, and men choose the one that reflects character. Secondly, because two identical T-shirts with different prints for a woman are similar, like twins, and for a man they are different.

When creating a women's line, we are interested in playing with a cut, inventing lace straps for T-shirts, hoods for sweaters, unusual fasteners or eyelets. There are drawings, but they are placed very delicately and unobtrusively. But in the men's collection we “come off” on prints! We've got some crazy writers who come up with some absolutely fantastic ideas. However, the handwriting is quite traceable.

Frank: We have ten designers on our team, and each of them brings their own. What we have in common is just a look at modern fashion. We take only the essentials from the mainstream, ruthlessly cutting off everything that is unnecessary. You can be modern just one step ahead of reality. I consider our "trick" anxious attention to detail. It can be a captivating zip at the shin, from knee to the hem of jeans, or funky suspender closures that turn them into a glamorous accessory. See how our metal chain logo with thin oblong links is neatly presented on the pockets. It looks very stylish.

David: About the jeans themselves, both men and women, I would like to tell you separately.

Nowadays, a straight leg line is in vogue, without fanciful bell bottoms or trapezoidal "pipes". If the jeans are wide, then from the hip, if narrow, then according to the figure. In principle, now there are a great many silhouettes, they just need to be selected "for themselves."

Most popular colors casual style - pearl gray, milky blue or classic dark blue. But the trendy color for jeans is, of course, a funny topic. It's like saying about a classic three-piece suit that black is fashionable in it. We have all colors: brown, black and white. Even pink and pale yellow for girls who like to look bright and unusual, wearing not the most catchy clothes. In the men's collection, we did a good job on the fit. Our low-waisted jeans fit perfectly on your hips. There are many models with suspenders in the women's collection. If the girl is slim, she can either tuck a thin turtleneck into her jeans, or leave her suspenders gathered with straps.

Honestly, I love to meet "my" clothes on the street. And although I have been in the profession for many years, it never ceases to amaze me how differently the same thing looks on people.
