The dates for the song contest in 2021 have already been announced. The semi-finals will be held on May 18 and 20. And the final is on Saturday, May 22nd. From this it follows that the organizers have a little over six months to prepare.

In Russia, the last word rests with Channel One and the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.

There is an agreement between the companies to appoint an artist one by one. In 2020, the decision was made by Channel One, respectively, in 2021 this right will be transferred to VGTRK.

The company also decides whether the choice will be limited to the opinion of an expert jury or whether the voting will be entrusted to viewers. Neither method is contrary to the rules and is practiced in many countries.
