Fans of Streets of Broken Lanterns are shocked. Today it became known about the death of actor Marat Garipov, well-known to the public from the TV series "National Security Agent" and "Streets of Broken Lanterns". For the past few years, the artist has suffered from a rare and severe disorder of the nervous system.

Garipov reportedly died in his home in Gatchina, at the age of 48. Several years ago, the artist was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a rare disorder in which both upper and lower motor neurons are damaged, which leads to paralysis and subsequent muscle atrophy.

Garipov played roles in 12 films. A former boxer, he also trained special forces fighters, worked in an anti-extremism squad. He began acting in films, having met Mikhail Porechenkov in the gym.

For a long time, Marat was bedridden, the last few weeks his condition deteriorated sharply. On Saturday, January 9, the artist's mother called an ambulance, noticing that Garipov was choking. The doctors drove to the patient for more than 40 minutes. The woman tried to give him artificial respiration on her own, but to no avail. The arrived doctors recorded the fact of death.

“I pressed the panic button and tried to do artificial respiration, but they did not go for 40 minutes,” the artist's mother told reporters. - When we arrived, the doctor began to yell at me: "Why are you running, come out of here, he has already died, do not run, you prevent me from writing and there is nothing to bother with over the corpse." And she wrote in her paper that the ambulance arrived when he was already dead."

As specified, the actor will be buried on Wednesday, January 13th.
