The domestic press is discussing interesting news. The World Health Organization has reportedly released a list of neurological disorders and mental illnesses. The updated list includes a raw food diet and a vegetarian diet.

Experts have classified the raw food diet and vegetarianism as F63.8 disorders, cravings and habits.

According to the press, one of the arguments in deciding to classify popular diets as a disease was the news that in Spain, in the city of Malaga, a family of raw foodists brought children to a coma with a strict diet.

Previously, experts found that the less meat a woman consumes, the higher the risk of psychological disorders and depression. “When we studied women who ate less red meat than the recommended amount, we found that they were twice as likely to be diagnosed with depressive or anxiety disorders,” says a report from Deakin University in Barvon.

However, the American Dietetic Association does not quite agree with this radical view. They are convinced that following a properly balanced diet has a beneficial effect on human health, supplying the body with all the necessary elements.

The mental disorder known in science as orthorexia, or pathological passion for a healthy lifestyle, has long been a matter of concern for medical professionals. They continue to recommend people to follow a healthy lifestyle, while urging people not to go beyond reason in this matter, writes globalscience.ru.

It is worth remembering that a complete rejection not only of animal food, but also of thermally processed foods leads to a deficiency of a number of vital substances - proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and trace elements - and leads to a malfunction of the digestive system.
