Mitya Fomin: “I prefer to work more and spend less time on my personal life”

Once this singer was the face of the Hi-Fi group (“Time has no power,” “Don't leave,” “And we loved,” “The seventh petal”). In early 2009, Mitya left the band for a solo career. How he is doing now and when he is going to get married, he told "Cleo".

- Are you friends with the Internet?

- Of course.

- Which animal do you associate yourself with?

- In general, I really like dogs. I've always had dogs. This year my beloved American Cocker Spaniel Plum, who has lived with me for 14 years, died. Now I have got myself a Mainecoon cat named Barmaley, but I am going to have a dog too. And I associate myself with a parrot.

- Do you have a talisman?

- While on tour in Israel, I received a small silver medallion with words from the Torah engraved on it from a complete stranger. She said that this phrase will make me happier, although I do not understand its meaning. I took my word for it, and indeed - the medallion works, everything started to take shape somehow well.

- How do you relieve stress?

- In different ways: I sleep, eat, go in for sports, go to premieres … I can drink, but the main thing here is not to get carried away.

- Where did you spend your last vacation?

- In Bali, but I wish I hadn't been there. I was also in Austria, a few days in Ibiza, then in Saint-Tropez.

From time to time there are rumors about your return to the Hi-Fi group. Is that possible?

I have existed as a solo project for almost three years, nevertheless, this is a lively and painful question. Of course, breaking up with the Hi-Fi group, with my alma mater, was difficult and painful. I am grateful to this team and all the people who were related to it. It was not easy to leave, it was difficult to decide on this step. As a musician, it would be interesting for me to somehow support this story in the future. This is not the only case of a soloist spun off from the group, and here continuity and respect for one's own fans are important. Unfortunately, the management of the band does not agree with the conditions that I offer for those rare and guaranteed bright performances when I join the group. So I have a desire, but we are still looking for common ground. I am sure that in the foreseeable future, some options for reunification are possible. Now the group is performing in a truncated composition - Timofey and a new girl. As such, they do not have a soloist at the moment. After all, I was a frontman there for more than ten years and I am sure that sometimes performing with my own band, I would do better for myself and for them.

You worked in the band for ten years, then you became a solo artist. What are the advantages and, perhaps, disadvantages of such independence?

It is difficult to separate advantages and disadvantages here. Being in the project, I did not feel constraints: there was no regulation on how to behave, how to dress, what to say. I was given complete freedom, although I know that this is not the case in all production projects. We performed a lot, we have ridden almost the whole world. It was probably convenient that absolutely all the musical material was done by Pavel Yesenin and Erik Chanturia, the office was in charge, and we were only required to come to concerts, filming, interviews and photo sessions. For example, I was not at all interested in the legal background of the existence of show business.

And when I started working independently, the main thing was to create a team of like-minded people. It was as if I was learning to walk again, but I really liked what was happening to me. It seems to me that I am developing harmoniously now.

Was it difficult to change your usual way of life when you parted with the team?

Honestly, yes: I went into complete obscurity, one might say, into darkness. There was an offer from Maxim Fadeev to record an album, but how and when all this would happen, no one gave me any guarantees. But I wanted to prove to myself and others that I would survive outside the project at all costs. Many people predicted failure for me - thank them very much, because it greatly stimulated me. I had a difficult year, it largely repeated the first year of my work in Hi-Fi - the same lack of money, uncertainty, a kind of crisis, and besides, I started repairing my apartment. In addition to the appearance of my home, I completely changed the environment, went in for sports, and this brought its results.

Can you compare “changing jobs” to breaking up with a girl?

Can. In both cases, you add value, you love, you make friends, you dream, you make plans, you give and receive. When this changes, of course, it is difficult for you.

- What turns you on?

- Believe it or not, beautiful body. Preferably without underwear.

- Did you have a nickname as a child?

- I was not in my childhood, and then we moved to the center of Novosibirsk, and for some reason in the new school I began to call all the girls Klepami. This word later came back to me, and for some time I became Klepa.

- Are you an owl or a lark?

- Generally an owl, but I'm trying to transform myself into a lark.

- What is an unacceptable luxury for you?

- A car that costs more than 100 thousand euros.

- What is your psychological age?

- 21 years old, I think. And sometimes even less.

- What melody is on your mobile phone?

- No, standard call.

- What is your favorite aphorism?

- Life is Beautiful.

You are 37. Are you already thinking about creating a family, about children?

And what do you think? Of course, I think, almost incessantly. But since I often do not belong to myself, it turns out that this is somehow postponed all the time for later. But the thought has already given some kind of sprout in my head, so there will be children, and there will be a family. I am not yet so many years old to somehow panic and feel the last hope … Children can appear at any age, especially in a man. As for the family, nominally I have it, I just don't tell anyone about it and I don't want to talk about it. First of all, work and music are important to me. If you sing good songs, then everyone will need you, and it will be easier for you to find your soul mate.

So I prefer to work more and spend less time on my personal life. It may sound cynical, but honest.

You are a frequent visitor to social events, parties …

Nothing human is alien to me. As for my appearance at parties, this is, as they say, production costs: public people are forced to appear at them, because this is almost the only way to meet friends. Drinking an extra glass of champagne or showing off in a gossip column has long been of no interest to me. But at parties you can meet the right people, learn about new projects, see what your colleagues are doing, get inspired by something, steal something. Going out somewhere, I thus demonstrate my interest in life in general.

How else do you rest? Do you like sports, cars, movies, books?

Every day I run along my favorite Frunzenskaya Embankment, Pushkinskaya Embankment, in Neskuchny Garden. I spend two or three hours of my morning on this. I am engaged in outdoor fitness; Despite the fact that I have subscriptions to chic clubs, I prefer to play sports on the street, in splendid isolation and to the sounds of my favorite music. I love good cars, I drive a black Mercedes, five-liter. I love cinema, the last film that impressed me is Melancholy. Unfortunately, lately I read books less and less, you need to force yourself to do it. By the way, I cannot read on electronic media, I prefer traditional books, paper ones, with binding. Since childhood, I love Lewis Carroll very much and read Boris Vian, I especially like "Foam of the Days".

Do you have extreme hobbies?

Unfortunately, there are no extreme hobbies, probably the instinct of self-preservation is too strong in me. I can enjoy watching extreme sports, but I only allow myself cross-country skiing, since I grew up in Siberia. I don’t do alpine skiing or snowboarding, although it seems to me that it’s very sexy. I love swimming: I have been doing water polo for a long time and am a great swimmer. And, here's another jumping into the water - can it be called extreme?

How do you feel about fast food?

Yes, I'm fine. Sometimes I can't drive past our favorite McDonald's, Burger Kings or Rostiks. They do something incredible: no, no, yes, and I want to shove it in my mouth. I compensate for these calories by running. I have my own theory, according to which I do not have breakfast: I drink a glass of water, some yogurt, an energy drink, wrap myself in cellophane and go for a run, simultaneously doing elementary exercises to maintain tone. I swing the muscles of the shoulder girdle, legs, abs - this is enough to look good and fit.

Believe me, an hour in the fresh air makes such colossal miracles that no plastic surgeons are needed.

Can any of the people with whom you enjoy meeting in clubs be called true friends?

Yes, there are real friends and girlfriends among them. These are former hi-fi partners Tanya Tereshina and Ksenia Oleshko, who, by the way, has already become a mother three times. This is a gorgeous fantastic singer Slava, and the deepest poet and person with great humor Eva Polna. We are friends, communicate, gossip. Kolya Baskov, Philip Kirkorov, Andrey Grigoriev-Appolonov.

Do you have many friends in general?

In general, probably not, and maybe yes. I did not count.

Do you have disadvantages that you just can't get rid of?

There are plenty of them. These are my bad habits, for example, extreme suspiciousness. Sometimes you need to let go of the situation and just forget about it, and instead I begin to analyze and torture myself with this. I am too pragmatic because I am Capricorn. There are other disadvantages that no one should be aware of.

What qualities are you most proud of?

It's not good to be proud at all. Probably, this question is better addressed to the people with whom I communicate and work. I want to think of myself that I am a hardworking, obliging and attentive person, although this, apparently, can be argued with.

What do you value in girls? And what qualities do you not tolerate?

I appreciate sincerity, beauty, tenderness, clarity of mind.

A woman should be able, as they say, to "envelop" a man both in the literal and figurative sense of the word. She must have some kind of charm known only to her.

And I do not tolerate rudeness, pretense and "twisting". I love open people very much.

Do you have an ideal of female beauty?

Yes, this is my mother, she is beautiful. And also Oksana Fandera, Yulia Snigir, ballerina Vishneva … Thank God, we have many beautiful women.

Do you believe in love at first sight?

How can I tell you … It happens that people meet, start talking and cannot stop, and then it ends up in bed. Now, if after that there is some kind of continuation, then, probably, yes. I'll tell you if this happens to me.

Are your dreams now related to career success, some material moments or something else?

They are related to everything at once. The main dream is to be happy and to make the people with whom fate confronts me happy. The material component is important, but each person deserves bonuses only if they make the best efforts for this.
