Fashion for art: stars at the opening of the gallery

Recently, it is fashionable and prestigious to get involved in art and understand it. Some do not miss a single exhibition, trying their last bit not to lose popularity (hoping to get on the glossy pages), others - to treat themselves to free goodies, and still others - to really appreciate the innovations in the art world. In our time, exhibitions have become a favorite place for Russian celebrities. In order to keep up with their foreign colleagues, they ply all over Moscow, supplying their Internet pages with photographs of themselves against the backdrop of art exhibits.

The night before, in a cozy room on the Rostovskaya embankment in Moscow, the opening of a new gallery of contemporary art, Russkol Gallery, took place. Despite the small space, it was able to accommodate not only a whole exposition of paintings, but also a huge number of guests who came to celebrate this event and admire the exclusive author's canvases. The owner of the gallery, Nelly Davydova personally met each guest, offering to spend a pleasant evening in a friendly atmosphere.

The main premiere of the evening was a series of paintings by the American artist with Russian roots Irene Russkol. By the way, she was also present at the evening, she was sweet and sociable, which is not always possible to say about public figures. The collection of her paintings was dedicated to constellations. However, the majority could see in them whatever they liked - that's why it is modern art - to depict something, the main thing is to make it beautiful and unusual. Someone can say that these are just silver and gold blots, and someone - to discover the secrets of being in them.

However, Russkol is a well-known artist, though, unfortunately, not in very wide circles. In America, she is exhibited in the most prestigious galleries, and her paintings are hidden in the expensive mansions of famous collectors.

We decided to find out what inspired the creation of such unusual exhibits, as well as what brought them and the author to the vastness of our homeland.

- It's just an amazing place when you fly by plane or helicopter at night and see all these flickers, fogs. Crystals from which I made "constellations" are mined there. They come in different sizes - huge blocks and very small. I love natural materials - they are alive: metals, some gold leaf and semi-precious stones. But the main thing is beeswax - the paintings even smell like honey.

The master admitted that her favorite artist is Mikhail Vrubel and that in the future she plans to use new materials and techniques - the more unusual, the better.

"Cleo" also talked to the gallery owner Nelly Davydova. She admitted that she created the gallery according to the American concept. She immediately added that in general she is a patriot, but this does not mean that you cannot borrow ideas from other countries. Nelly promised that the gallery's schedule will be built in such a way that it could be visited not only by those who have nothing to do during the day, but also by those who are ready to culturally enlighten themselves after work - until 10-11 pm. Well, everyone should be able to touch art.

The discovery continued. People came and went (the event had no set time frame) when Joseph Kobzon, the master of the Russian stage, appeared on the doorstep, who could become an honorary exhibit in the "Museum of Russian Stage" himself. Without too much pretentiousness, he personally came to appreciate both the gallery and the paintings. The cheerful, kind and smiling Kobzon became the first noble guest of the holiday - the rest of the announced eminent guests, apparently, preferred a less intellectual pastime at other parties, of which there are a lot in spring. The legendary singer congratulated the heroes of the occasion and looked at the paintings with interest (perhaps choosing something for his cultural reserves). Having steadfastly posed with almost everyone who came for a joint photo, he quietly disappeared - not the age to stay at such events for a long time.

The saxophone continued to play, the guests continued to chat and take pictures … The evening ended, and another interesting place appeared on the map of Moscow, which will delight us with many more unusual exhibitions, but this is a completely different story.
