The Latin American beauty singer Shakira is celebrating a momentous occasion. The Colombian artist was awarded a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. The unveiling ceremony for star number 2454 took place in Los Angeles on Tuesday, November 8th.

Shaka's joy knew no bounds. The singer posed next to her own star from all sorts of angles. “It's just incredible. I would like to thank you all,”said the moved celebrity.

The singer recalled that she first walked the Walk of Fame in the company of her mother, as a seven-year-old girl. And then her parent remarked: "Shaki, one day your own star will appear here as well." “If someone then heard her words, they probably would have taken us for crazy,” said the artist.

To date, the performer has a large number of music awards in her assets, including the most prestigious Grammy in the United States, won in 2001 for the best Latin American pop album. Shakira is a multiple winner of the Latin Grammy Award from the Latin American Academy of Sound Recording. This year, the singer won the Person of the Year nomination. The award ceremony will take place tomorrow in Las Vegas.

Last month, Shakira joined the commission under the President of the United States, which will deal with educational issues for immigrants from Hispanic countries living in the country.
