Israel "booked" the best seats in Eurovision for its elite

Israel has taken the advantages of home-based Eurovision in its own way. But not everyone liked this position.

The distribution of tickets caused a scandal that unfolded 2 months before the song contest. Despite the fact that all tickets go on the free sale, several hundred have been "booked" especially for the Israeli elite. Of course, we are talking about the best seats in the hall, which were literally sold to local stars, bypassing the generally accepted rules for selling tickets. At the same time, so far this information has not received official confirmation. Otherwise, Israel celebrity tickets will go on sale again and anyone can buy them.

Representatives of the current government strongly condemned such a scheme. According to officials, such an attitude towards organizing a large-scale music competition, followed by tens of millions of people around the world, is unacceptable. This inflicts a huge blow on the reputation and will leave an imprint on the image of the whole country. Note that the preparation for the event is full of scandals not only in the country hosting the Eurovision Song Contest. In particular, in Ukraine, the definition of a musician who will represent the country in a song contest has grown into a showdown. Several participants at once refused to participate and there is a high probability that Ukraine will remain without representation.

The next Eurovision Song Contest will be the 64th in a row, it will be held in mid-May in Tel Aviv. Note that Israel is hosting the event for the third time. Curiously, the country wins the music competition every 20 years. First there was a triumph in 1978, then in 1998 and in 2018.
