In the famous Pidhirtsi Castle, located in the Lviv region, work has begun by American scientists, specialists in the paranormal. According to local residents, a ghost lives in the building, built in the 17th century.
In Podgoretsky, as legends testify, White Lady wanders at night - the ghost of the young wife of the castle founder, whom he killed out of jealousy. According to legend, other spirits also live, the stomping and neighing of horses, the sound of the wheels of carriages is heard. Even today, the castle guards are afraid to walk through the halls at night, where, as they say, "someone knocks and walks."
American scientists, who came to the castle on the weekend, have already installed equipment in the halls and alleys of the park. It will help detect heat, infrared and ultraviolet radiation and tell for sure if there are ghosts in the castle.
The researchers will also be filming a scientific documentary in Pidgortsy. Ghostbusters have already become famous for their tapes about the spirits of Hitler, Robin Hood and Dracula. For the first time in Ukraine, experts in paranormal activity.
Ghost Hunters International was invited by the director of the Lviv Art Gallery Boris Voznitsky and local historian Igor Zhuk. They told scientists that a strange smoky silhouette of a person sometimes appears in photographs of the palace. Moreover, the examination does not reveal any defects in the pictures.
Pidhirtsi Castle was built in 1635-1640. A unique monument of gardening art, the so-called Italian park, was laid around the building, and the baroque church of St. Joseph is located opposite the castle.
In 1979, the Podgoretsky Castle played the role of the Louvre in the cult Soviet film The Three Musketeers.
The Podgoretsky castle reached its greatest prosperity during the reign of Vaclav Rzewuski, who collected a large collection of valuable paintings, books, weapons, furniture. In 1787, Severin Zhevusky became the owner of the estates, and this time is considered the beginning of the decline of the complex.
In 1940, the Pidhirtsi Castle was given to the Lviv Historical Museum. During the Second World War, the structure was badly damaged, but the greatest damage was caused by a fire that happened in 1956.
Since 1997, the castle was transferred to the Lviv Art Gallery, at the same time a charitable foundation for the revival of the Pidhirtsi Palace was created.
