The famous singer, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Yekaterina Shavrina was hospitalized after a serious accident. The day before, the singer had an accident, as a result of which three people were injured, one died. According to preliminary data, Ekaterina Feoktistovna has a closed craniocerebral injury, concussion and a fracture of the facial skeleton.

The accident occurred on the evening of March 21 on the 36th km of the Moscow-Roslavl highway. Ekaterina Shavrina was driving a Honda CR-V car. At some point, the 71-year-old artist lost control and drove into oncoming traffic. There was a collision with an Audi A4 driven by a 33-year-old man.

As a result of the road accident, one of the Honda passengers died on the spot from her injuries. Shavrina, another of her companions and the driver of the Audi, were hospitalized.

Ekaterina Shavrina is a student of the famous singer Lyudmila Zykina. She was born in Perm, at the age of 16 she entered the State Volga Folk Choir. After touring with the choir, Shavrina decided to enter the All-Russian Creative Workshop of Variety Art in Moscow. Then there was a school named after Ippolitov-Ivanov and GITIS.

Ekaterina Feoktistovna is a laureate of numerous prizes, an honorary citizen of 11 cities of Russia. Her discography includes more than 20 albums. The TV films Songs of Russia (1978), Moments … (1986), Fate-Destiny (1994) were shot about the singer. In the collection of the artist, the order "For selfless labor for the good of the Fatherland", the gold order "Service to Art", the small gold medal "Patron of the Century".

Shavrina is the only Russian singer to have performed twice in recitals in the United Nations conference hall.
