The famous song of Alla Pugacheva "A Million Scarlet Roses" was first performed in the 80s. She was so fond of the listener that she sounded literally from all the radio receivers of our vast homeland. Loved the composition and abroad, especially in Japan. But at the same time, few people know that this story is genuine, but it did not happen with Alla Borisovna herself.

These romantic events took place in the early 19th century in Georgia. The famous French actress Marguerite de Sevres came here with a concert program. She danced and sang to the accompaniment of baggio.

Local artist Niko Pirosmani fell madly in love with a pretty girl. He confessed his love, painted portraits of the beauty, tried to win her favor, but Margarita's heart remained cold and callous. She did not share the feelings of the poor artist.

As his neighbors and acquaintances assured him, Pirosmani was “out of this world”: he insisted that he saw the saints, but with his hand, when he painted, as if someone was driving. Niko was a calm and quiet person, so such statements did not bother anyone much. But the act that the artist committed against the actress was regarded by many as insanity.

According to stories, on his birthday, Niko sold his only property - a teahouse, in which he lived and earned at least some money. For all the proceeds, the artist, having traveled all over the district, bought flowers. In addition to "scarlet roses", there were other flowers: acacia, lilies, peonies, lilacs, poppies.

Marguerite de Sevres did not appreciate such an act. According to one version, the artist thought that the flowers were sent by a rich admirer, for whom these are sheer trifles. According to another version, the actress came down from the stage and rewarded the poor artist with one single kiss. Almost immediately, Margarita left back to France, as her touring activity in Georgia was completed.

After this rash step, Niko became completely impoverished. He literally had to survive. Since that time, the artist lived in a dukhan - a small tavern with the possibility of a shelter. He painted literally on anything - walls, oilcloths, cans. Pirosmani in complete poverty in April 1918, when he was 56 years old.

As is often the case, fame came to the artist after his death. In 1968, on the 50th anniversary of the death of Niko Pirosmani, an exhibition of his paintings was held in the Louvre.

In front of the portrait of the actress Marguerite de Sevres, an old woman stood for a very long time and wiped away her tears. She admitted that she is the very woman depicted in the picture. She even showed the letters that the lover Niko sent her while he was alive. The artist confessed his love and insisted that he did not regret anything.

Alla Borisovna first performed the song "Million Scarlet Roses" in 1982. The words for the composition were written by Andrei Voznesensky, and the music was used by the famous Raymond Pauls, which was previously written for the Iranian singer Gugush. The story of a poor artist, who lost only one smile of his beloved and lived out the remaining days of poverty, touched the hearts of people so much that she is still remembered.
