When you are 18, it seems that all mistakes can be easily corrected, at any time turn off the chosen path and set a new goal. You go to college, anticipating future career ups and dreaming of dizzying success. However, not everyone will have bright prospects, and some have to seriously think about changing their profession when the age "passes" over the fourth decade.

The author of "Cleo" figured out how to overcome the fear of a blank slate and find the courage for new achievements, being no longer a student.

Coco Chanel once said: "If a woman by the age of 30 has not become a beauty, then she is a fool." But it is not enough for the fair sex to be just attractive, they want to come up to the fourth ten "fully packed": husband, children, apartment, car and work, certainly beloved.

However, the latter very often does not add up. The choice made after school turns out to be wrong, and at 30 it suddenly turns out that 5 years of study at the university were wasted. An ordinary accountant understands that he hates all these boring numbers and does not want to spend the rest of his life at an unloved job. The thought of a radical change of profession, of course, comes to mind, but the fear of the unknown does not allow it to develop. “I'll have to study, waste time and money … It's too late for me to change something, I had to think before,” the woman worries and, faced with the first difficulty, raises a white flag: “I give up”. She continues to sit all day in the hated office and do the hated business. And the feeling that life is wasted becomes its eternal companion.

Do you want to give up on yourself too? Are you sure that 30 years is a sentence and nothing can be changed? Thousands of women, who once decided to radically change their occupation, today share the secrets of success with others - just on the verge of change. It's time for you to learn how to dare to take this serious step and finally feel that you are at ease.

30 is just the beginning

For some reason, we are accustomed to thinking that at the age of 30 you can sum up the intermediate results of life: what you have done and seen, what you have achieved. However, all these are conventions - nothing more. Those who are sure that it is a shame to "rush" from one job to another, when you have already exchanged your fourth dozen, are wrong. Scientists say: our life is cyclical, and one cycle is equal to 7 years. Therefore, it is quite normal that at about 28 or 35 years old (at the border of the periods) women begin to realize especially clearly that they once made the wrong decisions, and try to correct the mistakes they made. Do not be ashamed of the sudden desire to try yourself in something else - it is more than normal.

Don't look back at others

Most of us constantly think about what others are saying and thinking about them. And it is extremely difficult for some to admit their mistakes, saying in a conversation with a friend: “I decided to leave jurisprudence and take up journalism. I realized that being a lawyer is not mine and I just wasted 10 years of my life."

It seems to us that such a statement is akin to surrender: "I stop fighting, I am powerless, laugh at me all and sundry." But look around: are everyone around you happy with their lives, jobs and the choices they made while still “green” applicants? It's just that the majority do not have the courage to step over the conventions imposed by society and start building the career that they need, and not the one that they are not ashamed to tell their friends about.

These are not mistakes, these are experiences

Surely now you are doing self-flagellation: “And where was my head when I chose the philological faculty? Did I want to be a teacher of Russian and literature? I dreamed of something else all my life!"

Stop. Treat everything that happened to you "before", not as a "misfire", but as a valuable experience that was simply necessary. Do you remember how in the song: "Nothing on Earth passes without a trace"? So your seemingly so hateful work will one day be very useful in a new place.

Don't chop off the shoulder

If the decision to change the profession has been made, then you really want to quit your old job overnight and set off to meet new achievements. However, there is no need to rush. Do everything gradually, learning the information you are interested in from friends and on thematic forums on the Internet. Sign up for courses that will allow you to combine work with study for some more time. And only after making sure that you are completely ready for changes, write a letter of resignation and go to university, if necessary.

Spread the straws

If it is not possible to combine study and work or two jobs, and there is nowhere to wait for material support after dismissal, then take care of your financial well-being in advance.

In the months leading up to your expected layoff, start saving money for “unemployment time”. Better, of course, if you think about savings long before that and open, say, a deposit in a bank, but whatever the circumstances, remember: the "safety cushion" must be there.

They say that with a thought that seems delusional at first glance, it is imperative to "sleep": if the next morning she does not leave you, then she is not so delusional. The same can be said about the desire to change the profession after 30 years - it is necessary to weigh the pros and cons before making a fateful decision. However, it is not worth delaying, otherwise you risk never realizing your plans.
