There are several days left before the end of the Christmastide. And this time is traditionally considered the most suitable not only for thinking about the soul and spirituality, but also for fortune-telling. It turns out that 75% of Russian women believe in fate, astrology and various forms of prediction. But few are waiting for the traditional fortune-telling time.
Almost every one of us is familiar with different ways of predicting the future, such as casting wax and divination with mirrors. For some, this is more of entertainment, but most take such forecasting methods quite seriously. Sociologists of the research center of the international network "Training Center SEKS. RF" tried to find out what place fortune-telling and other types of magic occupy in the life of Russian women. And it was found that 79% of women turned to magic at least once in their life.
What prompts us to turn to magicians and fortune-tellers? The most popular reason was the desire to find out about the future with a specific man - 29% of the respondents. 9% wanted to improve their health, and 7% wanted to improve family relationships. At the same time, love spell and retention of a man turned out to be not very popular - only 2% of women pursued such goals.
Most often, Russian women turn to astrologers and psychics, while magicians, sorcerers and fortune-tellers are not very in demand.
Actually, the overwhelming majority trust astrology (32%) or simply believe in fate (29%). Numerology (6%) and cards (4%) are significantly lower in the ranking. Least of all, ladies are inclined to rely on omens or guess at the coffee grounds - there are only 2% of them. Among the respondents, there were 17% of girls who do not trust any kind of magic.
At the same time, only 15% are sure that the other half should be destined for them. In matters of relations with a partner, Russians are quite rational, and the majority (44%) have never thought about compatibility in terms of astrological or magical indicators.
“Women are naturally inclined to magical forms of thinking, and sometimes they really want to look into the future,” says Ekaterina Lyubimova, a leading sex coach and founder of the international network SEKS. RF Training Center. But it is one thing if fortune-telling is perceived as a game and entertainment, and another - as a "pill for all troubles." In solving serious life problems, magic often becomes a dead end, a way to explain a problem or solve it by some higher powers. Of course, when a husband leaves a woman, it is much easier for her to run around fortune-tellers than to start doing something herself - to go to a professional psychologist, to start changing. But I am glad that this trend has been weakening lately.”
