Video: TIPS for SOUVENIRS || What to buy when you go on vacation! 2024, May

The sea, the sun, the sand … Another summer is over - and there is a place on the shelves for the trinkets brought from the rest. It's a pity to throw it away, but there is no place to store it. And what to do with them? This problem is not unique, and solutions to it have long been invented by those who suffered earlier from you from the irrepressible thirst for gathering. All that remains is to get to know the best of the best!

Marine souvenirs

Let's start with the most common and dive into the marine theme. How many of us have spent hours of serene wandering on the beach turning into extra pounds of luggage? Shells, pebbles, sticks and even sand - all this got into the bags on the basis of only one argument: "Oh, look what an unusual shape, a hole, what a color!" Well, now this "beauty" is all yours! Over the years of vacations, it has accumulated so much that it is just right to discover your own Cote d'Azur. There are less time consuming ways to benefit from these findings though. Most popular: decorating photo frames, creating wall panels and decorating holiday tables.

Pick a few of the largest seashells and use them as jewelry stands or vases.

The first option is easy to implement and does not require any special design talents: the selected elements are “put” on the glue around the perimeter. In the second case, it is better to rely on the base of implemented ideas - an illustrative example will give a clearer idea of which combinations look the most advantageous. The third is the most difficult and most interesting. Here you need to take into account the features of the dishes and textiles used in the design of the table and work hard on making a number of changes to natural materials. But the result is worth it: unusual tablecloth weights, napkin shell rings, starfish - candlesticks, decorative plates with pebbles - the sophistication of serving will amaze any guest.

Want originality with minimal effort? Pick a few of the largest seashells and use them as jewelry stands or vases. And with little things - pebbles, sticks, sand, shell fragments - fill transparent designer jars. The order of the layers is not important, the main thing is that the result is a modern and unique decoration.

Postcards, brochures and other paper souvenirs

So, what to do with the endless number of postcards, brochures, pocket cards and tickets from the places visited? The most valuable ones can be kept and even hidden. All the rest is under the knife. This mass of useless things will make great collages. You just need to connect fantasy, scissors and glue. How do you, for example, have the idea to make a map of the world out of these materials at hand, highlighting the places that you have already visited with special "signs"? You can also create a "travel picture" by purchasing a large unusual frame and placing various little things related to your vacation adventures under the glass. Don't want glue and layout problems - use cork boards: easy to attach, remove and change.

Figurines, vases, dishes and other artifacts

If the mass character of things of the same type is a plus, then in the case of statuettes, vases, ethnic dishes and some other national artifacts - on the contrary. Here you need to follow the museum principle. Firstly, you will have to disassemble the collection, highlighting the most valuable in it, sorting everything by themes, colors, series. Then decide what you send to the "storerooms" and what you prepare for the exposition. Having singled out the brightest thing among the latter, think about the appropriate design. What will highlight its sophistication? Create a spectacular still life, take care of the appropriate lighting - and the highlight of the interior is ready! And when you get tired of this composition, you can change it, using things that were put off the first time.

However, if you were able to identify several similar things, they can be demonstrated together. The main thing is that they look like a single whole and that there is a zone of free space around. Then the collection will look as impressive as possible. You can place it on shelves or in niches. The most widespread now are racks, called "mini-honeycomb". They are very convenient for arranging and storing small items.

That is just hard to throw away

Well, what to do with the rejected souvenirs? Indeed, among them there will probably be those who do not raise their hand to throw away (after all, memory …), but I also don’t want to stumble upon them with a glance all year round on the walls and bedside tables. There is a bold decision! Convert such a rejection into Christmas tree decorations. A minimal rework will provide you with a set of toys that transform the Christmas tree into an amazing piece of art.

There are a myriad of ways to incorporate holiday souvenirs into your home. You just need to abandon the templates and allow yourself to dream up. Give up trying to expose everything at once and in the same plane. Think about where you can use the brought things, if you discard the traditional methods of their exploitation. Perhaps your solution will turn out to be innovative and in the next review, the photos of your interior finds will be in the TOP-10.
