How to raise an entrepreneur from a child

There are different roads leading to entrepreneurship. Professionals start their own businesses with expertise, customer base and determination to move forward on their own. Those who have entrepreneurship in their blood prefer to find their niche empirically. What path will be optimal, there is no definite answer.

In my profession as a tax and accounting consultant, expertise is important. Over the years, the inner strength came to open your own business. There were attempts to create a business in other areas, but none of them brought satisfaction to the full. But I was once again convinced of the correctness of following the main purpose.

Looking back, I can say that today I have a successful company, a strong team, they know me in the market and recommend me to partners. I plan to take the next step in business development. Offer a mentoring tool for young businessmen, help them avoid major mistakes, suggest points of growth and make a personal contribution to the development of Russian entrepreneurship.

Mentoring as a social lift to the profession

In Russia as a whole, the institution of mentoring is underdeveloped. However, it can be interesting for entrepreneurs as a new experience and challenge. To become a driver for improving the quality of management and stimulating entrepreneurship for the country's economy.

It was mentors who played an important role in my professional development. First, my mother, under whose supervision I worked for several years. Then mentors in the profession, whom I met on different parts of the path.

By the way, with some we have now switched to the format of business cooperation. They have become for me an example of women who have achieved success in business not to the detriment of their family and other aspects of life. It is no secret that if a woman in our country makes a choice in favor of a career, all interests and her opportunities are shifted in this direction.

In the absence of a personal mentor, I always recommend listening to the advice of your immediate environment, your family, and finding mentors in your professional environment.

Choice of profession

It is customary in our family to support the desire of children for independence and financial independence. Exclusively through observation, support in the form of advice and recommendations, also a kind of mentoring. While the children were growing up, they spent a lot of time in joint conversations before going to bed about choosing their path and destiny. In our family, there has always been an attitude that you need to do your favorite thing, be sure to always move forward. This is equally important for women. A man in a woman's life may not always be a constant, you need to look for opportunities to realize your potential in business and creativity, to provide for yourself and your children.

I have three children. Two of them are already quite grown-ups and they turned out to have different attitudes towards entrepreneurship, the freedom that the opportunity to earn on their own provides. The task of parents is to give everyone the freedom to choose.

I helped my eldest daughter with the opening of a dress rental shop. But the joint project didn’t work, I couldn’t turn off the “business partner” at home, and she was the “daughter” at work. I did not insist.

The middle daughter is entering the 10th grade, while for two years she has been developing her own clothing brand SPRAY. It immediately became clear that she had the makings of an entrepreneur, she was driven by the desire for financial independence and she was quite successfully moving along this path.

Of course, unlike many parents, I was able to make the necessary contribution to the development of my children. I know well how to pack a business, I do my reasonable contribution to supporting children so that they avoid mistakes and losses. I provide the help that I myself once resorted to in relation to my teachers in the profession. I often disagree with the decisions made, the principles of doing business, and approaches to communicating with employees. I can point out this, but I will not interfere. I believe that children should gain their own life experience and it is no less important than professional skills. Success in entrepreneurship often stems from important life lessons.

How to turn a teenager into an entrepreneur

When the middle daughter announced that she wanted to start her own business, we were ready for this. The start-up capital was provided to the daughter on terms of return. This is an important educational moment, responsibility is the main quality of an entrepreneur.

Very soon, further business growth became directly dependent on the transition to the status of an independent company. Such a product requires mandatory labeling, work with retail - an online store, online checkout, Internet acquiring. Business scaling needs a different level of transparency and legalization.

But how can this be done in our country for a minor child?

There is no established practice of registering a minor as an entrepreneur in Russia. In fact, the restriction may be up to 14 years old, since a passport is required for registration. Until the age of 18, parents are responsible for the child as his guardian, including financial. This means that for registration with the Federal Tax Service and when applying to the bank to open a current account, a young entrepreneur will each time require a notarized parental consent.

It will not be possible to use services for registering business activities online. Electronic service templates simply do not provide for the ability to attach notarial consent. You will have to go according to the classic scheme - certification of a power of attorney from both parents at a notary and then submission of a package of documents to the Federal Tax Service at the place of registration. There are no other changes in the package of documents and the registration procedure.

The following package of documents must be certified by a notary: consent from both parents, form P21001, a copy of all pages of the passport. After the necessary documents are certified by a notary, you need to pay a state fee of 800 rubles and transfer the package of documents to the tax office. We stopped our choice on individual entrepreneurs, this tax regime corresponds as much as possible to the profile of the activity - the production and sale of clothing (from January 1, 2021, the circulation of unmarked goods is prohibited). An individual entrepreneur with a simplified taxation system has restrictions on the amount of annual income in the amount of 150,000,000 rubles, but this is more than enough for a beginner entrepreneur.

Not all banks were ready to work with the young entrepreneur. Alfa Bank was the first to react. Among the requirements of the bank is the personal presence of the applicant and the notarized consent of the parents.

Now the middle daughter successfully copes with the role of a manager, controls production, suppliers, accepts orders, develops collections. Scales the business - the brand is present in concept stores in Moscow, in the USA. Her individual entrepreneur is serviced by my company as an independent legal entity. Everything is clear and strict: transactions are made through official accounts, an online store is operating, an online cash register and Internet acquiring have been issued.

Entrepreneurship is the sphere of activity where freedom and the right to choose, the ability to take and bear full responsibility for one's life and actions are manifested as much as possible. It is not surprising that many parents consider this choice the most preferable for their children.

At the same time, my experience suggests that you should not impose your beliefs on children. We tell and show in action what it is like to be your own master. An entrepreneurial streak will wake up - we will continue to pass on experience, no - it means the child will be happy on his chosen path.
