However, despite the gloomy tones, the painting is considered one of the most significant works of the artist.
During the period from 1902 to 2000, the painting changed many owners, and in 2000 its value increased to $ 55 million. The buyer who paid this amount wished to remain anonymous.

This picture was painted by Pablo Picasso for the owner of the Lapinh Aguile cabaret in Montmartre literally for food.
