From the beginning of the next academic year, an updated version of the Federal State Educational Standard comes into force. This means that the students who came in September are expected to change the schedule and educational process. Therefore, it is worth considering what subjects are being introduced in the 5th grade in 2021-2022. according to the Federal State Educational Standard in Russia.

What does the FSES include?

GEF, which first appeared in 2004, is included in the list of documents that determine the program and the number of hours determined for each subject. Unlike the previous version, the document will contain:

  • obligations of the educational institution;
  • goals and objectives set within the discipline;
  • expected results from students;
  • meta-subject and personal skills that need to be developed;
  • recommended forms of work.

In addition to the Federal State Educational Standard, the leadership of educational institutions needs to be guided by the Federal Law on Education, the curriculum recommended by the Ministry of Education and Science, SanPin. These documents also determine which subjects will be studied in the 5th grade in the 2021-2022 academic years.

List of compulsory subjects

Traditionally, the curriculum consists of a federal, national-regional and school component. The list of disciplines that must be present in the program includes:

  • Russian language;
  • mathematics;
  • literature;
  • foreign language;
  • introduction to history;
  • natural history;
  • Fine art and music;
  • labor training;
  • physical education;
  • BZD.

They are allocated 75% of the study time. This means that 840 hours per year are allotted to study them, regardless of the length of the school week. Of these, 5 hours a week are devoted to Russian and mathematics, 3 hours - to literature and a foreign language, 2 hours - to history and technology. Depending on the schedule, physical education takes place 2-3 times a week. The rest of the subjects are held once a week.

Additional disciplines

In addition to the subjects that are compulsory for all schools, there are disciplines introduced in individual educational institutions. These include the native language, native literature, and a second foreign language.

A number of additional subjects are introduced in schools, based on the territorial affiliation and the wishes of the parents. So, the training course can be supplemented:

  • civics;
  • social science;
  • natural science;
  • ecology;
  • ethics and the basis of religious cultures;
  • ODNKNR.

For subjects not included in the basic course, up to 20% of the study time is allotted. At the same time, in a five-day period, additional disciplines can take 175 hours. If there is a school Saturday, the time for studying them increases to 280 hours.

Features of learning foreign languages

A controversial issue in educational terms today is the role and number of foreign languages in the educational process. The Unified State Exam in English may soon become mandatory for the final examinations. The first approbation of the innovation will take place in 2021. If the experiment is recognized as successful, then from next year the compulsory exam will become permanent. And this will be reflected in all stages of language learning.

The idea of introducing a second foreign language into the educational process is being actively promoted. Supplement to English can be:

  • German;
  • French;
  • Spanish;
  • Chinese.

Today, such practices exist only in specialized schools. However, the introduction of a second language everywhere will bring new challenges. Not all educational institutions have a sufficient number of specialists who are ready to take on the load of teaching a second foreign language. In this case, the likelihood of using additional hours for in-depth study of English is allowed, which increases the chances of better preparation for the exam.

Other changes

In addition to questions about what subjects will be in grade 5 in the 2021-2022 academic years, students and parents are also interested in expected innovations of a different kind. Thus, the Ministry of Education is considering changes in the field of school standards.

If they come into force, the following will happen:

  • the educational process will be aimed, among other things, at solving applied problems;
  • within the framework of the technology, there will be topics on the design of robots;
  • programming will become a subject of study in basic school;
  • VLOOKUP system and schedule will undergo changes;
  • the use of gadgets in the classroom will be prohibited.

Projects aimed at the culture of using gadgets within the walls of educational institutions and other changes affecting school life are considered separately.

Some restrictions will affect school uniforms. After the adoption of the project, it will be forbidden to use synthetic materials when sewing student clothes.

Outcomes

Conclusions:

  • changes in the curriculum are associated with the entry into force of the updated FSES;
  • the documents define lists of compulsory and additional subjects with distribution by the number of hours;
  • in connection with the introduction of the USE in English into the list of compulsory final exams, the requirements for its study will become more stringent;
  • plans for the near future include teaching schoolchildren a second foreign language, programming, creating robots and other skills.
