It's no secret that the behavior of our tourists at home and abroad is different. If in everyday life we are accustomed to behaving with restraint, to control our behavior, then on vacation we can finally relax and indulge in all the bad ones. For many, vacation is an “event of the year” that must be spent with the utmost sense. What is this sense - everyone has their own answer to this. Nevertheless, from year to year, our tourists step on the same rake, which could be avoided with the right approach. Find out what mistakes are common, how to avoid them and thereby make your vacation better?

Mistake # 1. Choose resorts popular with compatriots

From day to day we move in the same linguistic and cultural society, constantly surrounded by people with common habits and mentality for our people. It would seem that on vacation is the time to change both the environment and the environment.

But if we are going on vacation, choosing a destination according to the principle of “cheaper and so that it will be heard”, then inevitably we find ourselves in the society of all of our compatriots who made the same obvious choice. And here it is worth considering: isn't it better to break the mold and go to a less popular place? Tourists from other countries are more likely to visit such resorts and there will be fewer Russians.

Error # 2. Discuss what is happening out loud in Russian

One of the most tempting mistakes. When we are in a foreign language environment, we involuntarily get the feeling that no one around us understands our speech. Unfortunately, this is not so. The Russian language is one of the most widespread in the world, it is spoken by the population of more than a dozen countries, it is understood by other Slavic peoples, and there are Russian immigrants in almost every country in the world. You should not discuss aloud anything that you would not speak in a Russian-speaking environment, and at the same time expect that you will not be understood.

Error # 3. Communicate with foreigners loudly in Russian

Another language mistake common among our compatriots who do not know English well. When the vocabulary does not allow expressing a thought in English, some Russians begin to speak Russian deliberately loudly, as if this makes our language clearer to foreigners. This behavior is indicative of educational gaps and does not honor anyone. Due to such situations, in countries popular with Russian tourists, there has long been an opinion of us as a people who are not familiar with the English language. If you are going abroad, take a language course to be able to formulate at least a few sentences on common topics - traveling will immediately become easier.

Mistake # 4. Drinking too much alcohol

Some tourists start celebrating their vacations at the airport, continue on the plane with drinks from Duty Free, pump themselves up with alcohol on the beach, by the pool, at dinner. Many after drinking begin to behave indecently. All this does not create a pleasant impression on those around them, and the victims of alcoholic intoxication themselves would probably be ashamed if they saw themselves from the outside. Do not spoil your vacation with alcohol, it usually only interferes with enjoying the trip. But if you drank too much, you should not show it to others.

Mistake # 5. Buy organized excursions from Russian tour operators

What could be easier than joining a local excursion from your tour operator and taking a day trip with a couple of dozen other compatriots? This option is chosen by the overwhelming majority of our package tourists during their vacation. This is the easiest choice, but does not mean that it is the best. As a rule, it is not cheap, and the impressions will be at the level of "gallop across Europe". What are the alternatives? First, there are local travel agencies that will take you on the same excursion much cheaper, but for this you need to know good English. Second: in addition to travel agencies, you can find private Russian-speaking guides with a car - of course, it costs more, but the freedom of action will be much wider, in addition, no one will bring you “for show” to souvenir shops. And the third, the most daring option: to explore the country on your own by public transport or by renting a car - this gives you even more opportunities to get to know the country, its inhabitants and their customs, and the impressions of such a trip will be the most vivid and unforgettable.

Have a nice trip!
