The new invention of Italian scientists will delight lovers of desserts who diligently take care of their figure. The perfect ice cream is created - eat as much as you like and do not get fat. In addition, the new delicacy fully meets the requirements of the Mediterranean diet, the benefits of which are avidly promoted by doctors.

The novelty includes a standard set of components: milk, eggs and sugar. However, there is also a little secret - a reduced fat content and an increased protein content - 30% and 15%, respectively. The share of sugar is 55% (in the traditional composition, its share is not more than 15%).

As a reminder, the Mediterranean diet is characterized by a high content of fresh fruits and vegetables, cereal dishes, moderate amounts of meat and fish, and olive oil.

The work of scientists from the Catholic University of Piacenza under the leadership of Attilio del Re, according to the developers themselves, can replace one meal. Although nutritionists oppose such substitutions, their bans will bypass the "perfect" ice cream side - the proportion of fat in it is minimized, while some varieties of ice cream sundae are comparable in calories to a decent-sized chop.

The new treat will probably also be recommended for little sweet tooths as a healthier alternative to regular ice cream. Recently, British scientists from the Food Standards Agency (APP) found that foods with artificial additives (experts studied additives most often used in the manufacture of sweets, biscuits, various drinks and ice cream) are the cause of hyperactive behavior in children. Some supermarkets in Britain have even imposed their own restrictions on products with artificial additives.
