Actress Tilda Swinton has never complained about her lack of popularity. But lately, the star has been snapped up. She just recently starred in David Bowie's new video, The Stars (Are Out Tonight), and has now become the face of the French fashion house Chanel's pre-fall collection.

Swinton, 52, has always been considered a stylish lady. She acted as the "face" of the fashion brand Pringle of Scotland, and last year she enjoyed starring in a futuristic fashion film by Parisian photographer Katerina Jebb called The Future Will Last a Very Long Time. She also worked with designers Haider Ackermann and Raf Simons before the latter was the creative head of Dior.

Two films featuring Swinton will be released this year: the dramatic thriller "Through the Snow" and "Theorem Zero" by Terry Gilliam.

In principle, cooperation with Chanel was only a matter of time. Finally, Karl Lagerfeld is ripe. However, the inspiration for his new collection was precisely the theme of Scotland (the traditional plaid, kilts, etc.), and who else can be trusted to represent it if not one of the most famous and stylish ladies of the ancient Anglo-Scottish family?

The first pictures have already appeared on the web. The photo session took place at the famous Château de Ecouans, a historical and architectural monument of the Renaissance, located north of Paris. And Karl personally shot Tilda. Just in case, the couturier remarked that he had always considered Swinton "a modern woman and a symbol of timeless elegance." But who doubts this?
