"Heat-heat, fried sun of big cities!" - Yulia Chicherina sings tearingly, fleeing the stuffiness with a bottle of "Pepsi", smashing windows and surprising the stout aunts-saleswomen with the power of her voice. The weather seems to just mock people, preparing them for hellish hell. It is almost impossible to escape the sun, sweat and thirst.

Black glasses, wide-brimmed hats, a minimum of clothing do not help to cope with the "steam room", either outdoors or indoors. One remedy - to be always in the wind, to create a draft, to make the air circulate - can help you breathe deeper without burning your nostrils with hot air.

But you need to know that opening all windows in an apartment leads not only to creak and slamming of doors, but also to other unpleasant consequences. This "narrow" air stream concentrates all pathogenic microbes that inevitably exist in every room (on the floor, walls, furniture). We do not just inhale all this concentrate - the draft literally "drives" it into our lungs. An analogy with a hose with water is appropriate here: it is one thing to drink water that flows with a small pressure, it is quite another - if the hose is directed to your face and the tap is open all the way. Not every person can withstand such a pressure of microbes, therefore it is because of the draft that people most often get sick. Hypothermia resulting from this "home wind" is an additional provoking factor in the exacerbation of any chronic disease. In order to ventilate the apartment, which must be done regularly and without fail, it is enough to keep only one window open.

In general, it is recommended to keep at least 1 fan indoors in order to breathe deeper. In order to understand how cluttered the ventilation system of the house is, it is enough to bring a candle to the vents in the kitchen, toilet or bathroom.

If the flame deflects towards the grate, then there is a draft and you can get by with a simple fan. If the candle does not react in any way to the proximity of the grate, from where cockroaches usually make their forays, then a "centrifugal" fan will be required, which creates a higher pressure.

The cost of such a device is 2-3 times higher, but if the air duct is thoroughly clogged with all sorts of rubbish, a standard "axial" fan simply will not help.

At the moment, a huge number of all kinds of air conditioners have also appeared on the market, which have already ceased to be an attribute of prestigious offices and expensive cottages, but are firmly entering life, like a vacuum cleaner, washing machine, computer… The capabilities of an air conditioner are not limited to air cooling. In addition to maintaining the set temperature, the air conditioner cleans the air in the room from dust, smoke, pollen. You can also use an air conditioner to reduce humidity and distribute the air evenly throughout the room (for example, in winter, when warm air from heaters and central heating radiators accumulates under the ceiling and the floor remains cold). Hot / cold air conditioners also have the ability to heat the air.

Now almost all manufacturers offer window models of air conditioners with a capacity of 1.5 to 6 kW, which are most suitable for apartments and pockets. The simplest of them can only cool the air, the more expensive ones have a heating mode and a remote control.

The main disadvantages of a window air conditioner are increased noise and the need for installation in the window opening. Advantages - low price and ease of installation, which does not require special tools. A window air conditioner sucks in air from the street, cools it, and then discharges it into the room. And the warm air from the room leads to the street. When choosing window air conditioners, it makes sense to proceed from external data, and, of course, take into account their structure. So all modern air conditioners are equipped with a timer. You can also set the required temperature in advance, and before coming home from work, the required degree will be provided. You can program the shutdown of the air conditioner at a certain time, etc.

One of the latest innovations used in air conditioners is a system with variable power - an inverter that quickly adapts to the size of the room, sets the optimal operating mode for itself, thereby saving energy (up to 30-35%!) And creating less noise. Due to this principle, the service life increases, and air conditioners last longer. It is not difficult to guess that they are more expensive. Another temptation is to purchase a heated air conditioner. Then, of course, it will not be used for three months a year. But for such a model, much more electricity is required for heating, and it will take much more time to heat a room with a medium-power air conditioner than it would take with a conventional oil radiator.

When choosing a brand of air conditioner, you will be faced with the usual question: how do inexpensive options (LG, Samsung) differ in more expensive options (Toshiba, Carrier and others)? The main differences in the protection systems of the air conditioner from improper operation.

The most "advanced" Japanese air conditioners, which have the following protection systems: filter control, freon leakage control, overcurrent protection, automatic defrosting, low temperature protection.

As a rule, Korean air conditioners (Samsung, LG) are not equipped with such protection systems, therefore they are much cheaper. In addition, Japanese and European brands, in contrast to Korean brands, have a longer service life (10-12 years versus 7-8) and a lower percentage of factory rejects (0, 2-0, 3% versus 1-2%). The leader in this industry is the Japanese company Daikin, which has been involved in air conditioning for 75 years. Today these are the most reliable, quietest and most expensive air conditioners. Next on the list are Mitsubishi and Panasonic. Thanks to the optimal price-quality ratio, they are recognized as national brands. They are quite reliable and do not make much noise in comparison with air conditioners from other companies.
