The famous Russian composer and pianist Vladimir Shainsky died in California at the age of 93. The widow managed to agree, and with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the legendary musician was buried in Russia, and not in the United States, as originally planned. Farewell to the musician took place a month after his death, on January 25, 2018. His monument at the grave has not been erected to this day.

At the end of 2020, the heirs of Vladimir Shainsky announced a fundraiser. They said that they wanted to erect a good and original monument at the famous artist's grave, but they needed 2 million rubles, and they didn’t have that amount at their disposal. People began to transfer money, but very soon the collection was stopped, since the monument was paid in full by the prima donna of the Russian stage Alla Pugacheva.

Finally, six months later, all work was completed. On June 11, the composer's children solemnly opened a monument dedicated to the life and work of Vladimir Shainsky. It is a white grand piano with an open top made of Italian marble. The surname, name and patronymic of the composer, as well as the years of his life and death are written on the cover in gold letters. A photo of Shainsky is placed next to it.

The heirs said that they had been working on the concept of the monument for a long time. They wanted to create a non-standard monument so that people could come to the grave and remember the great musician, his merits and work.

There are many pictures of Vladimir sitting at the piano. This image is inextricably linked with the pianist, so in the end we settled on this concept. Children believe that it reflects the most important thing that was important for the composer - music. By the way, Alla Borisovna approved the monument.

The heirs assure that this is a huge event for the family. Finally, the composer's grave is not empty, and fans of his talent, as well as loved ones, have a place to come.
