Armen Dzhigarkhanyan died on November 14, 2020 and was buried at the Vagankovskoye cemetery. Recently, the actor's fans sounded the alarm, as they saw that the grave mound was leveled to the ground, and the fence was completely removed. But the artist's friends reassured the fans, saying that for several months they have been preparing the grave for the installation of the monument.

Recall that Dzhigarkhanyan died due to cardiac arrest, which occurred against the background of kidney disease, organ edema and other chronic diseases. Since mid-October, the artist was in the hospital, but the doctors were unable to help the elderly patient. At the time of his death, Armen was 85 years old.

Farewell to the great actor took place on November 17 at the Moscow Drama Theater, on the same day he was buried at the Vagankovskoye cemetery at site number 29. Nearby lies the only native daughter, Elena, who died in December 1987 at the age of 23.

For about six months there was nothing on Armen's grave except a wooden cross, a small mound and a fence. Now this is gone. It turned out that the actor's friends will soon erect a beautiful monument to him. They assure that by the first anniversary, in November, the monument will already decorate the burial place of Dzhigarkhanyan. Now the foundation is poured, it takes time for the earth to be compacted.

A sketch of that very monument is also ready. He was approved by the second wife Tatyana Sergeeva (it was she who took care of the sick ex-spouse) and his stepson Stepan, whom the artist adopted, giving his patronymic and surname. The family made a few comments, but overall they liked the idea.

The headstone will be made of bronze and granite by sculptor Vahe Sogoyan. The last theatrical role played by Armen, the Roman philosopher Seneca, was chosen as the basis. In this image, Dzhigarkhanyan will appear for the last time and forever. He seems to be sitting on the edge of the stage, to which he devoted his whole life.

As friends of the actor explain, no fence is planned, access for fans will be completely open, as in the case of the graves of Vladimir Vysotsky or Sergei Yesenin.

Dzhigarkhanyan's friends also admit that there are some difficulties with the installation of the monument. Nearby there is the burial place of Armen's daughter Elena, and it is very old (the girl died 33 years ago), which causes additional difficulties.

There is not enough space for a monument to the actor, but at the same time I want to make it large-scale and worthy. Therefore, the task for the artist's friends was very difficult. But they did it. By the way, they assumed all the expenses, without seeking financial support from the only heir of Armen Stepan.
